Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:14-15
The final judgment is described by John. It is one where God finishes off all sin and death and hell. Everything that is not of God is thrown into the lake of fire. They are destroyed for the rest of eternity.
Many people fear death because they do not know what is on the other side of death. They do not know what death really is. When there is no understanding of what death is, or what is on the other side of death, it is understandable to fear death.
Death came into this world as a result of sin entering the world. Sin entered the world when Adam and Eve chose to disobey God. The result of that sin was death. Death both physically and spiritually. With sin in your life God cannot be around you. It must be removed first.
Every person born since Adam and Eve have chosen to sin. They have brought death into their own lives.
The only way to stop that death is to accept what Jesus has done for you. He died on the cross and paid the price of death for your sins. Once you accept that and follow Him, He removes all of your sins. Then He will place your name in the book of life. He has given you life, not death.
In the end when all sin and death is destroyed, God will look at His book of life. Any person whose name is not found in that book will also be destroyed in the lake of fire for all eternity.
Do you believe in what Jesus has done for you?
Are you following Jesus today?
Are you turning away from sin and accepting the forgiveness Jesus has given you?
Is your name in the book of life today?
I pray today that you will know what Jesus has done for you; that you will accept the price He paid for your life; that you will turn away from all sin; and that your name will be written in the book of life.
