Habakkuk 2:3 Wait For It

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of an end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. Habakkuk 2:3

Waiting for something to happen is often very difficult for many people to do. They know something good is supposed to happen, but know when. As they wait they get anxious. Often they give up waiting and attempt to get what they were waiting for some other way.

One reason many give up is that what they are waiting for is dependent upon a person, and that person has been proven wrong or false before. Their trust is broken.

God tells Habakkuk that the revelation is waiting for the right time to come to pass. He is to wait for it to occur, because it is a promise and will not come late.

There are many promises of God that has been revealed in scripture. Along with those promises many believers have been given a direct revelation or promise by God.

As with all promises of revelation, one must wait for them to occur. God’s promises will occur, but not until the perfect timing of God has come.

The greatest promise to have yet to occur is the return of Jesus to wipe out all sin and death for eternity. Many believers have fallen away in giving up hope in God’s promises. They chose to find some other way to live.

Each believer must look at the promises that has already been fulfilled. God has revealed many things that have already come to pass. If God has fulfilled all of those promises already, He will surely continue to fulfill the rest in the perfect time.

You may be waiting for a promise of God to occur. It could be one of healing, salvation of someone, provision, or some other need in in your life or someone else’s life whom you love. Hold on to the promises of God that has been revealed to you. The promise will come true at the right time.

The devil and the world will strive to get you to give up and take your own path to get what you want. Don’t give in to fear or impatience. Keep trusting God’s word to you. God has never failed yet, and will not start with you.

Keep waiting for God to answer your prayers in fulfillment of the revelation you have received.

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Lord; that you will know the revelation God has made; that God will give you patience as you wait for His answer; and that you will see God fulfill every promise.

Amos 3:7 God Will Reveal His Plan

Diagram

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7

Great leaders will always share what their vision is with those whom they are leading. They do not keep their plans hidden from those under them, because they need the people to be able to follow. If there is no revealed plan or vision, then there is nothing to follow.

Some leaders do not feel confident enough in their abilities to the point that they will not reveal what is in the planning. As this occurs, people will fall away and follow others. People love a person who will actually lead them.

Amos tells the people to realize that God will never do anything without revealing His plans.

God’s great love wants every person to love and follow Him. He does not want anyone to be punished or destroyed. In this God had revealed the first coming of Jesus to the people. He had revealed His plan of salvation for all people, everywhere.

Along with revealing His plan for salvation, God has also revealed what will happen when one does not accept Jesus, the punishment and judgement.

All of this is done so that no one can be without excuse. No one will be able to say that they did not know what God was going to do or why He was going to do it.

In order for a person to know what God is going to do, all he has to do is read the Bible, pray and listen to God’s Holy Spirit guiding Him. The Holy Spirit will give a person the needed discernment as to what God is doing and what He is going to do. Every believer has access to this knowledge, not just special people–pastors or prophets. His Spirit is poured out upon everyone.

Allow yourself to hear what God is doing and going to do. Read and study the bible every day. Pray in the Holy Spirit, being willing to listen and obey what God is saying.

God is moving on this earth. There are coming times of forgiveness and salvation, and there are coming times of judgement. Allow God to open your eyes up to see what is occurring and about to happen. This allows you to be able to do the work He has called you to do, to be His witness in this world and build His kingdom.

I pray today that you will hear God’s voice in your life; that you will obey God’s commands; that you will allow God’s Holy Spirit to fill your heart and mind with God’s knowledge and direction; and that you will be God’s voice to this world.

Daniel 2:27-28a Not Taking Credit

Standing by a window

Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Daniel 2:27-28a

The desire to have the right answer or have the ability to meet the need for others is great in most people. They want to be able to say that they can give what is needed out of their own abilities and strength.

Very few people like to admit that they do not have the right answer or lack the ability to do something. It makes them look weak and incompetent, so they will often make up something to try to meet the need, whether it is right or wrong.

The king had had a dream and wanted someone to tell him what the dream was and what it was about. If no one could do that, he would kill everyone. He was told about Daniel being able to do that. Daniel tells him that only God can give that answer.

In themselves, no believer really has the ability to do anything. Their power, strength and wisdom come from God.

The world will have questions to problems that they do not know how to answer or deal with. They are seeking answers, that only God can give. Some believers will give the answers in their own abilities or give the answer God has, and will take the credit for it, rather than give God the credit.

God has given His Holy Spirit to guide believers and give them wisdom. When a believer speaks, it should be with the wisdom and words of God, and then he needs to let the world know it is God’s word, not his own.

There will be times when someone needs help or guidance.  At these times seek God’s direction for that situation. God will guide you in what to say or do to help that person out. As you do this, do not take the credit for yourself. Give the credit to God for what He has allowed you to do.

Doing this points people towards God and takes the focus off of you. God is the only one who can give the perfect answer each and ever time. Allow God to work through you, but also give Him the credit. Without Him, you can do nothing.

I pray today that you will be filled with God’s Holy Spirit; that you will be guided by God’s Spirit; that you will give God credit for what He does trough you; and that you will allow God to use you to help others.

Ephesians 1:17 Wisdom & Revelation To Know God

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. Ephesians 1:17

Wisdom is the ability to make the right choice with the knowledge that one has been given. Some cultures put a very high emphasis on the value of wisdom, while others do not care for it as much.

The wisdom of this world is short-sighted and temporary. It is limited by man’s simple ability to think and see what is immediately in front of him or his through his limited experience and training.

Revelation is a revealing of things that cannot always be directly seen. Very few people don’t want to have some kind of revelation in some area of his life. People pay a lot of money for psychics to reveal something in their lives. People fight to know what is going to happen in the work place or with their local neighbor.

The world’s idea of revelation is selfish and short-sighted. They want to know for their own benefit, how they can get ahead in this life, how they can bypass some bad situation in their life.

Paul stated that he was asking God to give every believer wisdom and revelation, but not for selfish purposes, but to know God better.

God is an infinite God. He is so far advanced above man, that man cannot begin to fully comprehend Him. Without God revealing Himself, no person has the ability to really know Him or even see Him. God is outside of man’s way of thinking and seeing.

Yet, even though God is outside of man’s seeing, He wants to be known and seen. He is willing to reveal Himself in this world and wants to open the spiritual eyes of men to see Him. The believer will see God and know His character through what can be seen by God’s great revelation.

Allow God to open your eyes and see and know Him more. You cannot know enough about God and who He is and how great His love really is.

As you grow in wisdom and revelation of God, you will begin to see His hand at work in the world around you. All fear will be removed and replace with His love. Strive to know God more and more in your life.

I pray today that God will reveal Himself to you; that you will have God’s wisdom in your life; that you will see God at work in and around you; and that you will know God more and more.
