People are always interested in what the Bible says about the end times and feel that all they need to look at is the book of Revelation. They miss the fact that Daniel had spoken a lot about the end times and is quoted by Jesus and the disciples in other books.
James W. Tygrett, the author, takes a good look at both the books of Daniel and Revelation. He begins with the book of Daniel so that the reader can get a firm foundation of the background that is completed in Revelation.
Lots of scripture is used and gone into with a lot of fine details. James clearly says that this is only one man’s way of looking at these books and end time events. He does not say that he is perfectly right, but this is how he sees it at this point.
One of the things that he focused a lot on was the Greek and Hebrew words for ‘tribulation’ and ‘wrath of God’. In doing so, he shows that believers will go through tribulation, but not the wrath of God. With this, he also points out that what many call the ‘Great Tribulation’ is the wrath of God and not really tribulation. Tribulation is used to build believers up in Christ, whereas the wrath of God is a punishment to non-believers.
Going through this book is a lot to wade through with the many different timeframes and descriptions from both books. It will take a long time for one to fully read every scripture referenced and understand fully what he is saying. At times it appeared to be a bit repetitive, but it was going from one book, Daniel, to another book, Revelation, and bringing them together in a common thought.
Although this is not the deepest study I have had of these books, it is deep and detailed, though only 219 pages. I would recommend reading it if you are interested in end time events. Take your time and go through it slowly so that you can understand and verify what he is saying. This will open your eyes to some of what will occur in the end and what Christ has done for you and saved you from.
