Revelation 19:5 Praise Our God

“Then a voice came from the throne, saying: Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!” Revelation 19:5

Immediately after the destruction of Babylon all of heaven started rejoicing. The devil and those with him have been defeated forever. They are giving God the glory for the destruction. Everyone who fears God is to give Him praise, regardless of who they are.

One of the common themes from Genesis to Revelation is that God is to receive praise. Praise is telling God and others how great He is. It is telling God and others how God is in control of everything.

Many people do not give God the praise that is due to Him. Often they will complain about how God is doing or not doing something. People will be going through an extremely difficult time in their life and choose to blame God, rather than praise Him. There are many in the world who choose not to follow Jesus because at some point they had something disastrous happen that they blame God for.

Think about this picture in Revelation. They are praising God for the destruction of Babylon. How long did it take for Babylon to be destroyed? So far, believers have been waiting for nearly 2,000 years. The struggles have been great. Yet, God is in control and His timing is perfect.

Do you fear God? Then praise Him.

This fear is the knowing that God is in control and will work everything out for your good in the end. It does not matter who you are. You could be someone like Billy Graham who preaches to millions around the world. Or you could be the person who cleans the bathrooms at night at a church. Either way you are to give God the praise for what He has done, is doing, and is going to do.

Give God praise for who He is today. You do not have to wait until you get to heaven. Life here, is just a practice time for what you will be doing in heaven.

Are you His servant today? Give God praise. Let every breath that has breath praise the Lord!

I pray today that you will know that God is in control; that you will be His servant; that you will bow down and praise God for everything; and that you will tell others of what God has done for you and for them.
