Jeremiah 39:18 Put Your Trust In God

“For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, because you have put your trust in Me,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 39:18

Battles are occurring around the world on a regular basis. In most battles, most of the people are not spared from harm. The enemy often sees people as a target to be removed by death. Fear of death is a legitimate concern for most people. It is a reality of a possibility.

While Jeremiah was in captivity he recorded God telling him to tell Ebed-Melech that God would deliver him and give him life because he put his trust in God.

The seen battles of this world are the physical wars and violence occurring all over. Nothing is different since the time of Jeremiah. God uses some of these battles to punish some groups of people and to also wake up other groups of people. Because of sin, battles will continue to occur.

There is one battle that has yet to occur that will affect every person that has ever lived. This is the battle in which God comes and destroys all sin for all eternity. In this final battle, every person who has not put trust in Jesus for salvation will lose their life for eternity. Every person who has chosen to put trust in the saving work of Jesus will be given eternal life as a reward.

Each person has a choice to make as to whether one will trust in Jesus or not. The world will strive to get a person to not believe in Jesus. When danger rises, fear can rise if one is not trusting in Jesus. The only way to true life and peace is through trusting in Jesus for salvation.

You are in the battle for your life. The world wants to see you destroyed. As the battles rage, it may appear to be fearful and overcoming. Do not fear for your physical life, but fear for your spiritual life. This physical life is only temporary, but your spiritual life is for eternity. Put your trust in God and the saving work of Jesus. When the final battle is occurring, you want to hear God tell you that you have done well as a good and faithful servant who has trusted in Him and receive eternal life.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will put all of your trust in God for your life; that you will know that God will give you eternal life for your trust in Him; and that God will give you life despite the wars of this world.
