2 Samuel 12:13 Admission Of Sin

Coruh River

Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” Nathan replied, “The LORD has taken away your sin. You are not going to die.” 2 Samuel 12:13

People make mistakes and do things wrong all the time. When they make a mistake, the majority of people do not want to admit to the mistake. They try to excuse it away or blame it on someone else. It is common to hear people blame other co-workers or their parents for a mistake that only they, themselves, have made.

Others will try to cover up the mistake and lie about every having made it. They do not want anyone to know the bad choice that they had made. Very seldom do people actually admit to making the mistake and try to make it right.

David had made the choice of sleeping with a married woman, then he had her husband killed to cover it up. Even though the world really did not know the truth, God did. God had seen the entire situation from beginning to end.

God sent Nathan, a prophet, to talk to David about this mistake. When he pointed out the mistake to David, David had admitted to it. In the admission he knew he sinned against God. He no longer tried to cover it up.

Every person makes the mistake of sinning. Not just once, but many times. Some believers will try to cover up the sin as though nothing happened, yet it did happen. All a believer needs to do is go before God and admit the sin he has done.

God is not standing there ready to beat the person down or kill him, but is ready to forgive and remove the sin. Jesus died for that very purpose, to remove sin. All one has to do is admit the sin to God and turn from that sin.

There have been times you have made the choice to sin against God. Instead of trying to ignore it or cover it up, go to God about it. Let God know that you have sinned against Him and repent of that sin.

God in His great, eternal love and mercy will forgive you. God wants you to live, not die. He wants you in His family for all eternity and not be banned to hell.

The joy God will give you in forgiving you is greater than the weight of cover-up of that sin. Turn to Him today for forgiveness.

I pray today that you will know the forgiveness Jesus has for you; that you will not cover up your sin against God; that you will admit to God when you have done wrong; and that you will know the joy of forgiveness in your life.

Genesis 1:31 All Was Very Good

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning–the sixth day.” Genesis 1:31

God had made everything that there is. The sun, moon, stars, land, water, plants, animals, birds, fish, and man and woman were all made by God. He did this is six days. At the end of each day God looked at what He had made and said it was good. However, on the sixth day, He said everything was very good. He was finished with creating.

At this point in history, sin had not yet entered into the world. Adam and Eve had not yet sinned bringing about death to the world. Everything was working in perfect order.

Today, thousands of years later, it is often very hard to imagine anything being perfect. It is springtime now and people are starting to plant gardens. One of the biggest challenges to building a good garden is getting rid of the weeds. Those weeds were originally brought on by sin.

Continue to look around and you see horrible weather doing extremely destruction. You see babies being born with extreme defects in their physical form. You see people hating and killing each other everywhere. It may make you wonder if God cares anymore.

Yet, God does care and He still makes things with perfection. Even though you have inherited and taken on sin in your life, God still made you perfectly the way He made you. He also is working on making you perfect in character and becoming sinless.

Jesus came into this world to die on the cross to remove all the sin in your life. He is working to restore the perfection that God intended for your life. God made this world and Adam and Eve with perfection in mind. Sin changed all of that.

God has made you and said you are very good. He is looking not at your imperfections but what you can be in Jesus.

In order to receive that perfection, however, you must accept Jesus and what He has done for you. You must accept His perfect sacrifice to remove the corruption in your life.

You are of extreme value to God, not some worthless trash. Allow God to do something with you today. Live for God today.

I pray today that you will know the value God has for you; that you will allow Jesus to change your life; that you will serve God with all of your life; and that you will live in the perfection of Jesus.
