Psalm 53:3 No One Does Good

Every one of them has turned aside; they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one. Psalm 53:3

The world attempts to paint a picture that people, as a whole, are good. They will admit that there are some who do bad things, but the majority are classified as good. Most people think of themselves as an overall good person trying to do good things and not corrupt in any way. No one likes to think of themselves as a bad and corrupt person that never does anything good. That is a very negative picture about self.

David states that every person has turned aside and become corrupt, not doing any good at all. No one does good.

Comparing oneself to another person it is easy for a person to think that one does good, while another does bad, or one is corrupt and another is not. Looking from a human point of view, people do things at different levels of being good or evil. On the surface, most people appear to be good and striving to do good.

The moment a person brings God into the picture, the view of whether a person is good or not changes drastically. God is perfectly perfect in every way. There is nothing that God thinks, says or does that is evil in any way.

Every person, instead of seeking to live according to God’s perfect and holy way of living, seek to live their lives in their own way. This shows up in pride, selfishness and ultimately sinful ways of living. They do not seek what is perfectly holy and righteous.

Only after a person becomes a believer and allows the Holy Spirit to change one’s spirit, does one begin to seek to do good and follow God’s holy and righteous ways of living. Only in Christ Jesus does a person do good.

You most likely view yourself as an overall good person. You don’t purposefully strive to sin against God or do wrong things. Yet, you still sin and left on your own, you would sin more and become more corrupt and evil.

Do not allow yourself to follow the evil ways of this world, but be changed by the renewing of your spirit by the Holy Spirit in your life. Allow God to guide you in doing what is right and good in His eyes.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek to know how to do the good God wants you to do; that you will be led by the Holy Spirit in turning from all evil and corruption; and that you will allow God to change your spirit to follow after Him.

Ezekiel 28:17 Pride And Corrupted Wisdom

Clear lake near mountains

Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before Kings. Ezekiel 28:17

Looking good will often cause pride in the hearts of many people. They will often begin to compare themselves and how they look compared to other people, causing them to look down upon others. This can occur with both physical looks and the looks of his position in society.

Once a person has pride welling up inside of them because of how they look, their wisdom begins to become corrupt. They begin to think that they are all that and more. Their thoughts are that they know what is best and forget the rest.

Ezekiel brings a judgement against Tyre. The nation had been one of great splendor and glory, but had allowed pride to enter them. All the wisdom they had became corrupted and so God chose to knock them down.

The world, not knowing God at all, will often grab onto physical beauty and allow their thinking to be corrupted. They begin to think that they know what is best, when what they are doing is leading to death and destruction. From the outside it appears to be good, but is not.

Believers must also be careful to not allow pride into their lives. Some do a ministry and it grows very well. Suddenly they allow pride in their lives, thinking that they did it all. Once pride sets in, their thinking and allowing God to work begins to become corrupt. It all becomes about self, not God and others.

One must always know that it is God who is in control and must have the control. Things that go great are because God allowed it so. Keeping the fear of God and following His ways will always be the best and uncorrupted wisdom.

God wants to do great things in and through you while you walk on this earth. As things go well for you, do not allow yourself to begin to think that you are the best thing on this earth. Do not allow pride of self and position to corrupt you.

Keep your focus upon God and His ways to guide you in all that you do. This is true wisdom without pride that God is seeking in every person who follows Him.

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the wisdom of God’s ways; that you lean on God for everything you have and do; that you will put God first in your life; and that you will allow God to remove all pride in you.

Daniel 6:4 A Clean Record

At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. Daniel 6:4

King Darius had chosen some men to help lead his country. Daniel was among those men. Daniel had done so well that the king chose to make Daniel a ruler over the entire nation. The other men were angry and jealous at the position that Daniel was given and sought to find a way to discredit him. As they watched him, they found out that they could find nothing corrupt in Daniel, everything he did was right.

In the political world, one of the greatest things many of the politicians do and those who vote for a politician, is seek out what is wrong with the opponent. People want to discredit a person to be able to claim he is not qualified to hold the position.

This even occurs outside of the political realm. Watch the news and it is common to see someone being accused of some wrong doing. Many times, the wrong done occurred years ago and is only being brought to the surface now. Often one person brings up some bad from the past, and many others suddenly come forward with similar stories.

Believers in Jesus should be living their lives in such a way that no one can find fault with them. Their private life and their public life should line up exactly the same and both should line up according to God’s standards. All thoughts, actions, and words should be the same as what God would speak. This keeps all accusations from standing true.

Satan is out to get you, if you are a follower of Jesus. He wants to be able to dig up some dirt in your life, to claim you really don’t follow Jesus. The world will seek to discredit you, to make you look like them and that your belief is false.

Focus your entire life on God and His ways of living, so that no one can bring up an accusation that will be true. The world will see how you are living and it will be a witness of the changing power of God.

What record will people find on you, if they search?

I pray today that you will allow God to cleanse you from all sin; that you will live your whole life for God; and that no one will be able to find any fault against you.
