Societal problems ravage the nation of Puerto Rico. Drug abuse, crime, corruption, disease and poverty are common throughout the nation. Around 45% of the population is below the poverty line. Along with the poverty, the nation has been hit with many major destructive hurricanes that keep the nation from growing as they are in constant repair modes. Around 62% of people never graduate high school and even fewer are able to attend college.
Around the early 1900s, Puerto Rico was begun to be evangelized with the gospel message. The majority of people in the nation claim to be a part of the Catholic Church.
