Pray for Benin
Benin is a small nation that has remained very undeveloped over the years due to corruption within the government. The majority of the economy is produced by illegal activity. Some believe that tens of thousands of children are smuggled out of the country each year to be sold as child labor.
Although the nation has a very corrupt economy, there is a lot of freedom allowed. Christianity is allowed in the nation. Even with the freedom that is allowed, Benin remains to be the least evangelized non-Muslim nation in Africa. Traditional religions of voodoo and animism are still followed by the majority of the people.
Many churches have mixed animism with their Sunday worship, not knowing the truth of what to teach and believe. Very few of the people can read, leaving a gap in being able to learn and teach the truth of God’s word effectively. Most of the languages have not yet had a bible translated into the language for the people to read.
Leaders to be trained to be able to read and understand the Bible and to teach and lead others.
Points to pray:
Corruption in the government to be removed
Teaching people to read
Bible translations in the languages of the people
Truth about the false beliefs
Protection for the children
