Psalm 46:1-3 No Reason To Fear

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Psalm 46:1-3

Physical storms occur in this life on this earth all the time. Hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, and more. Each one is large and can be extremely devastating. Most people will fear these storms because of the disaster that they can bring.

There are also non-physical storms that occur in the lives of people all the time. Divorce, violence, loss of health, death, rejections, hatred, and more. Each of these are just as devastating as a physical storm can be. And in the same way, many people fear these storms of life.

The sons of Korah remind the people that God is their refuge and strength and is always there to help. Since God is always there to help, no one has to be afraid in any storm.

When a believer has his eyes and mind focused on God, he begins to know who God is and what God is like. He learns the character of God is love, perfect love. He also learns that God is in control at all times.

Knowing this helps a person realize that nothing can happen that is outside of His will and desire. And God does not allow anything to happen that is not for the best interest of the believer.

In having this knowledge, one can have zero fear in the midst of a storm. There is no storm so big that God cannot bring a person through it. Jesus calmed the storm on the lake with just three simple words. He can do more in the life of a believer.

God is there to help you at all times. He is never so busy that He cannot help you out while you are in a storm.

Get to know God’s great love for you and realize that He is really in control of everything. With knowing these two things, you will have no reason to fear when your world comes crumbling down around you in a hurricane.

There is absolutely no reason to fear, because God’s got this. He is there for you, to build you up, not destroy you.

Hold on to God, trusting Him and see what He can and will do in the storms in your life.

I pray today that you will know the love of God; that you will know God’s presence in your life; that you will know God is there to help you; and that you will trust God in every storm.
