Hebrews 6:10 God Sees Your Work

God is not unjust, he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. Hebrews 6:10

Janitors are very important people who often do not get recognized. They clean the workplace very clean every day or through the night, yet, very few people give them thanks. Yet, if the work was not done, immediately every person would notice the trash lying around. They are servants who work behind the scene.

Showing love and helping other people can often seem like a thankless, worthless job. It can often appear that no one sees what a person has been doing in helping someone else out. It is often done behind the scenes.

There have been many people who have served others out of love for God and for other people. As they serve, they are very seldom noticed or recognized. Some of those people give up serving others after a time, because the lack of recognition. They feel as if no one really cares, so it does not matter if they help someone else out or not.

Many of the people who help out in the church can often feel that way. They serve as a Sunday School teacher, or nursery worker, they visit the sick in the hospitals or homes, they help out the elderly in and many other ways of helping out people. Yet it always seems to be hidden from God’s sight.

God does see what a person is doing and will reward the person in the end. Every time a believer does a service for someone else, God works on preparing a reward. That reward may or may not be seen in this life, but it will come. One must not give up on serving others.

You may be one of these people who have served others for a long time and not seen anything come from it. Trust that God sees what you are doing and will reward you in His time. Do not give up serving others.

Jesus served and did not always see immediate results of His service. You are to be just like Jesus. There will come a day when you will stand before God and He will tell you well done, good and faithful servant.

Continue to serve out of love for God and for others and wait for your reward.

I pray today that you will know God’s love for you and others; that you will know God sees what you are doing for others; that you will have the heart of Jesus to serve; and that you will see God’s reward for your work.

Isaiah 31:1 Where To Get Help

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the LORD. Isaiah 31:1

Every person needs help at different times in their life. Finding the needed help is not always the easiest thing to do. People look for someone who is able to help them in the best way possible. The Israelites were looking to Egypt for help.

When a person has a vehicle break down, finding a mechanic that is affordable, reliable, and quick at doing the repairs is difficult. Often the person will ask others for references or they will just search the internet and read the reviews of various mechanics. Once a mechanic is found, the trust of the vehicle is put into that mechanic.

Along with finding help with vehicles, many people seek out assistance in many other ways. Searching for a job, provision of money, provision for a vacation, health care, healing, and the list goes on.

There is nothing wrong with seeking help from others, the problem comes in when total trust is put in the others first. Most people rely on others in this world for everything. They trust their large paying jobs, big bank accounts, personal influence, influence of others, the doctors, counselors, and psychiatrists.

The one that may people do not immediately go to for help and rely on first is God. Many believers go to other people first, before stopping and praying about the situation with God.

When a situation comes up in your life, where you need help, the best thing you can do is immediately stop and go to God for help. Ask Him for assistance. He can guide you to the right person for help or He can supernaturally take care of the situation Himself.

Who has a better chance at helping you: God–who is in absolute control and made everything? Or the people and things of this world–that are all temporary and can fail?

Do not go down to Egypt for help. Seek out the One who can really help you. Seek out God first in your life for every situation, whether large or small. He can and will help you.

I pray today that you will know God’s heart towards you; that you will trust God’s help and provision for your life; that you will seek out God first in your life for everything; and that you will trust in God for everything in your life.

Psalm 123:1 Where To Look

I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven. Psalm 123:1

As a person goes through life, he usually has some people he looks up to. These are people who have meant something special in his life. Usually they have done something above and beyond that impacted his life in some great way or another.

The people looked up to may be parents, a teacher, a co-worker, a close friend, a pastor, a mentor, and the list can go on. The world often tries to look up to those who are popular and in the limelight. Many different movie, television, music, and sports stars are looked up to by many people. They are often seen as the perfect example of what one wants to be like.

Although people may have good traits to desire and look up to, they are still human and have faults.

The psalmist, in this verse, says that he looks up to the one enthroned in heaven. God is the one who is enthroned in heaven.

Since God is the one who is enthroned in heaven, He is the one who is above all and in control. It is the king who sits on the throne. It is the king who has the final word of control in any and every situation. He has absolute power.

How can this help you today?

Knowing that God is on the throne, helps you to know that no matter how the situation looks, He is still in control.

Later in this psalm, it is written that they will look to God until He shows His mercy on them. You, too, are to look to God until He shows His mercy on you.

Those in the world can guide you and help you to a point, but all of their work will only be for temporary goals and many may fall short. God’s work is for eternity and will never fail.

Keep your eyes focused on God and allow Him to guide you through the perils and challenges of this life. His goal is to make you more like Jesus everyday and to bring you into heaven to be with Him for eternity. It is not just a temporary fix for a few days, it is an eternal fix. Look up to God today.

I pray today that you will keep your eyes on Jesus; that you will trust God to guide you; that you will know the mercy of God in your life; and that you will know Jesus is the King.
