Psalm 60:11 Seeking God’s Help

Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless. Psalm 60:11

Every person has times of trouble in which one needs help from someone else to make it. Finding that help that will actually help can be very difficult to impossible. While many people can sympathize with a person going through a difficult time, many are unable to really provide fulfilling help. Often the help provided will lead a person into more difficulties rather than leading them out of the problem without causing another problem. Solutions are usually just temporary, at best, and often led by a sinful heart.

David cries out to God asking for His help because the help of other people is useless.

The world is quick to provide solutions to many of the problems that people face from day to day. However, many of those solutions are based in sinful and selfish acts, rather than upon truth. Committing a sin to solve a problem may solve the temporary problem, but then creates an eternal problem of sin.

Repentance and forgiveness are often ignored in the process of attempting to solve the challenge in life. People will look at selfish ways to solve a problem, rather than look to God and His truth found in His word.

Instead of running to the world for help, believers need to seek God and His help. God will always lead the believer in the right way in every difficult situation. It may be that one needs to repent, other times it may mean that one needs to forgive. Either way, the believer needs to trust in God and His guidance, rather than self or of other people.

God will lead the believer either out of the trouble or through the trouble, but both require trust and obedience in Him.

Going through life you will have times of trouble in which you will seek some help to make it through. Make it your first priority to seek God’s help, before running to others or this world’s way of doing things.

Listen to what God says and how He will guide you in your time of difficulty. Be willing to repent and turn from sinful ways and be willing to forgive others and reconcile the problem. Know that God will lead you in the best way possible. Trust that God loves you and will lead you correctly during times of trouble and difficulties.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God’s help in times of trouble; that you will trust God’s guidance in your life; that God will reveal the worthlessness of the world’s guidance; and that you will have God’s strength to make it through hard times.

Psalm 12:1 Where Are The Godly People?

Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. Psalm 12:1

The world goes through their days each day just living life. Many understand that there are many problems in the world with extreme violence rising and being seen everywhere. Although they see the problems, most do not see the bigger picture of what is really going on and why those problems exist. All that exists in their minds is the here and now in the moment, which is focused on pleasure and taking care of self.

David cries out to God for help because godly men are disappearing. There are fewer and fewer faithful men to be found.

Before a person chooses to believe in Jesus, one is just being like the world. There is no rock-solid standard that people will stand upon. Everything changes to the whims of people in the moment as they seek to be happy and please themselves. What is good/bad one day is the opposite the very next.

God has placed a standard in place that is the same throughout history and throughout the world. This standard can be found and understood through the Bible, His word. True believers stand upon God’s word, which is eternal and never changes.

Although there are many true believers standing upon God’s word in the church, there are many who are being deceived and no longer standing on that word. More and more people in the church are being swayed into believing the lies of the world and are becoming more unfaithful to God.

It is more difficult to find Godly men and women in this fallen world as many choose to follow the ways of the world, rather than God’s ways. Believers need to stand strong and true upon God’s word and live the Godly life He has called them to live.

Most likely you can see the sin that is rampant in the area in which you live. Take a moment and think about how many Godly people you know. As you think about that, how many new Godly people are being discipled and raised up? And how many Godly people have chosen to walk away from God’s truth and follow the ways of the world.

Do not allow yourself to become one of the Godly people who disappear. Stand upon God’s word and live according to His word each and every day.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will live according to God’s word; that you will remain faithful to God at all times and in every situation; that you will be a witness of who Jesus is; and that God will build His church through you.

2 Chronicles 32:8 God Will Fight For You

“With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said. 2 Chronicles 32:8

Battles are occurring all the time all over the world. While some are physical battles of war, the majority are social battles with words and emotions or battles with physical health. During times of battles, one can feel as though there is no hope, that the enemy is greater and more powerful, and defeat is inevitable so fear sets in.

As Sennacherib was getting ready to attack Judah, Hezekiah told the people that God was with them to help and fight the battle, while Sennacherib only had flesh to fight. The people were encouraged.

No one in completely immune from battles. Some battles appear very small and easy to win, while many are large and ominous, causing one much fear and expectancy of defeat. The world often fights these battles on their own, in their own physical strength.

These battles wear a person down physically, emotionally and spiritually when they are fought on their own. Often one feels as if he is completely alone in the battle.

Believers are also not immune to these battles. Along with all the normal physical battles the rest of the world may face, believers are also attacked for their stand for God. However, rather than living in fear, believers can stand strong knowing that God is right by their side to help them and to fight their battles.

God will always give perfect wisdom as to how to deal with the battle in one’s life and then He will also bring about victory in miraculous ways. Victory in the end is always guaranteed for the believer who trusts in God.

Throughout your life you will face many different types of battles. Some will be massively huge, while others will be relatively small. Realize that you do not have to face the battle alone. God is right by your side to give you strength and wisdom in fighting the battle.

Every battle you face will only be the arm of flesh coming against you that can only destroy the body but cannot kill the soul. God has you in His hands and will fight for you to give you victory in the end. Trust God for that victory.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see God’s help in times of battle; that you will know God’s strength in a battle; that you will see God’s victory over the enemy in your life; and that you will have confidence in God’s abilities and promises.
