Psalm 115:18 Choose To Bless The Lord

But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the Lord! Psalm 115:18

The majority of people around the world do not recognize God as God. People choose to follow other false gods or not to believe in any god at all. Others have chosen to believe in God but reject Him out of extreme anger and want nothing to do with Him because of something that has occurred negatively in their life, and they choose to blame God for what occurred. Some will also outrightly defy God and fight against Him.

After talking about how many people have false idols made by human hands, the psalmist says that he and those with him will bless the Lord from that time forth and forevermore and then gives praise to God.

Every person has problems in life that can often be very overwhelming and challenging to keep moving forward. Often people blame God for those problems and reject Him rather than trusting Him through the difficulties of life. They forget that there are problems because of the sin that is in the world.

Believers can easily fall into the same pattern as the world in blaming God. Some will choose to refuse to bless God out of anger and frustration at the problems of life, wondering why God won’t deliver them immediately.

Those who get a true revelation of who God is and of His character will choose to bless the Lord at all times, both good and bad. They will understand that God uses all things for the good of those who believe in and trust in Him, so they will praise Him in spite of the difficulties.

This may not always be easy, but as one praises God, the difficulties appear to be smaller and not so difficult in light of who God is.

Every day you may have some difficulties that do not make any sense. You may cry out to God for deliverance and not receive it as desired. Do not allow those troubles to turn your heart away from God. Do not turn to the false idols of this fallen world.

Make a conscious choice to praise God in and through the difficulties. Know that God is working all things out for your good and choose to bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the Lord!

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know who God is; that you will bless the Lord in times of difficulties; that you will trust God in every situation; and that you will praise the Lord forevermore.
