Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6
The majority of people around the world do not know God directly. Many of those who have heard of God want nothing to do with Him. Others have turned away from God, because of some situation they had to go through in life and felt He did not help them. Still others stay away from God, because of sin in their life.
People who are like any of these are ones who do not have any praise for God. They do not see Him as good in any way. Some see Him as a harsh, legalistic judge that hates people.
The book of Psalms ends with telling everyone that has breath to breathe to praise the Lord.
God is a loving, caring, compassionate, merciful God who only does what is good and right and for the best for each person. When a person realizes how much God has done for him, he will want to praise Him.
In His great love He sent His one and only son to die upon a cross to forgive sins of people who rejected Him and made war against Him. Jesus willingly went to the cross to suffer extreme abuse so that every person who hates Him could have a way to be forgiven and get into heaven.
In this alone, there is enough to praise God for all eternity. Nothing could be better than to be given a clean sentence after a condemnation judgement of death.
Now add in all the blessings God has given each person. Health, breath, sunrises, ability to see, talk, move, think, and much more. Even though not every person can enjoy every blessing God has given to all people, each one has blessings of his own. While one may not have sight, he may have hearing, praise the Lord for hearing.
Take a moment to think about all the good things in your life that God has blessed you with. Start with your salvation and the forgiveness of sins, that alone is worthy of praise forever. All the other blessings are icing on the cake to give God praise for.
As you go throughout your day, remember all the blessings God has given you. Keep on counting all the blessings from moment to moment, then give God praise.
As long as you have breath to breathe, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
I pray today that you will know the blessings God has given you; that you will know the forgiveness of sin Jesus provides; that you will know all the good God is doing in your life; and that you will praise God with every breath you take.
Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord. Psalm 117:1-2
Finding true love in this world is difficult. Finding true faithfulness in this world is difficult. Finding one with true love and true faithfulness together is nearly impossible.
The number one problem with finding true love is that the majority of people tend to be selfish. Everything is about self with very little regard to others. They will love others as they are benefiting, but as soon as it seriously costs to love, they stop.
The same problem is found in finding faithfulness. People will remain faithful, until it does not benefit them or they see something better.
In this psalm, the writer tells the people to praise the Lord and lift Him up. The reason is because of His great love and enduring faithfulness.
Perfect love and faithfulness is only found in Jesus and His Father, God. Jesus shows His love by giving up His life on a cross for people who either did not know Him or hated Him. He did not die for those who loved Him. Jesus did not receive any benefit in Himself for dying for people.
Jesus also has enduring faithfulness. He continues to remain faithful to love everyone. This ‘everyone’ includes not only those who follow Him, but also His enemies. He also remains faithful in holding together this universe He has created so that man may live on this earth.
God is always there for those who seek Him. He will always love everyone, no matter what they have done or are doing.
Knowing this gives a person a reason to praise Him and lift Him up. There is no one who deserves greater praise than God.
Look into God’s great love that He has for you as shown in what Jesus has done for you. Realize how faithful Jesus has been to you over the years.
Let God’s love wash over you and overwhelm you as you realize how much of a filthy sinner you were or are and, yet, He still loves you. Notice how Jesus has removed all of your sins and will remain faithful to continue to do so.
Follow hard after Jesus and give Him the praise that is due Him. Let the world know of His great love and faithfulness. Broadcast His praises aloud for all to hear. Praise the Lord!
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you know God’s perfect love for you; that you will know God’s everlasting faithfulness to you; and that you will praise God all the days of your life.
Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, you his servants; praise the name of the Lord. Psalm 113:1
When working for someone, most people do not give praise to the one they are working for. It is more common to hear complaints about the boss, then praise and honoring. Faults in a person can easily be found and people are quick to point them out.
Some will give their boss praise, but then will complain about the work that needs to be done. Fault with what needs to be done is easily found. The worker often thinks he knows a better way or does not understand why it has to be done a certain way.
The reason many don’t give much praise, is that they see everything as about themselves, rather than others.
The author of this psalm tells the people to praise the Lord. He specifically calls the servants of God to praise the Lord.
Every believer is to be a servant of God. He is to serve God in whatever He needs when He needs it and how He needs it. God has become the boss of the believer.
God is willing to direct a person’s life as to how to live for Him and serve him. Unlike the bosses of this world, He does it out of perfect love and wisdom. He knows what is the best job for a person to do and the best way for him to do it.
While a believer is doing his job for the Lord, serving the Lord, he must also praise the Lord. God is worthy of all praise and honor.
God is the only boss who has laid down His life for His servants. He redeemed His servants from a judgement of death and punishment. He is worthy of all praise.
Take a moment to think about what Jesus has done for you. Think about how much Jesus suffered for you to give you eternal life and forgiveness.
As you see these things it will make it easier to serve God with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength. While you are working hard at serving God with all of your life, give Him praise.
Let God know how great He is. Let the world know how great God is. Honor God as you do what He asks of you, regardless of how easy or difficult it is.
Praise the Lord today.
I pray today that you will serve God with all of your life; that you will be a true servant of God; that you will sing praises to God; that you will tell others of what Jesus has done; and that you will praise God as you serve Him.
