Ruth 1:16 No Going Back

But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16

During extremely difficult times, many people like to return to where they were before the difficult times. No matter how good or bad the past was, people desire to go back to it rather than face major problems in life.

Staying on the path forward through extreme difficulties is hard for most people. Going back is easier.

During extreme famine and many difficulties, Naomi urged her daughter in laws to go back to their homelands and their former gods. Ruth, one of her daughters, stated she would not go back and would stay with her and her God.

Looking at a difficult road ahead can always make it seem easier and better to go back to the place one was. The life of a believer is often filled with difficulties because the world is against the believer and wants to destroy the believer.

Sadly, many believers will see the difficult times and blame God and then go back to the worldly way of living. It appears easier to live a life in sin, rather than go through the temporary trials as a believer. Living the life of the world may give a moment of pleasure, but in the end, it is death and suffering for eternity.

No matter how difficult life is right now, there is hope for the believer. In the end there is eternal life with no more problems, sickness, pain or suffering. Once one has begun the road to follow Jesus, he must not turn back to the world, no matter the challenges, but keep going forward.

As a believer the world is going to be against you and work to destroy your faith in God. Because there is sin in the world, it will not always be easy to walk with God.

Do not allow yourself to be deceived into thinking that the old ways of sin and the world is easier and better. Put all of your focus and trust in God and His ways of living.

All the pain and suffering you may be going through now will appear light and worth it all when you step into heaven with God for all eternity.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will trust God’s plan for you; that God will give you strength to walk the path He has you on; and that you will never turn away from God for the rest of your life.

Deuteronomy 8:2 God Tests You To Know Your Heart

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. Deuteronomy 8:2

Starting as a young child every person must take tests throughout their life. Tests attempt to reveal what a person knows or is able to accomplish. These tests can reveal mental knowledge, physical abilities, and character traits.

Although tests can be difficult and are often hated, they can reveal where a person needs to change or grow.

Moses reminded the people of how God tested them in the wilderness to know whether they would keep His commands or not.

Going through a difficult time of testing is very seldom the desire of anyone. It can be very scary and painful. Choosing the right answers can sometimes be mind-boggling or confusing.

Throughout the scriptures God teaches those who choose to believe in Him how He desires them to live their life to the fullest. Life lived this way is one of faith and trust in God alone. It is knowing that He knows the best way to live.

A person can easily say that he believes in Jesus, but it is much more difficult to obey His commands. The commands of God will often go against the ways of this fallen world.

God will purposefully place difficulties in the path of a believer to test him. He wants to see whether the believer will seek Him, obey Him and trust His word and guidance. These difficulties are not always meant to punish and never to destroy, but to build up, to reveal weak areas to be worked upon.

Testing will come to reveal what is really in the heart of a person.

From the moment you chose to believe in Jesus, God has revealed to you how He wants you to live your life. The basics of it is to love Him with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength.

Now that you know how you are to live, God will test you to find out if you have learned to live that way. Difficulties and testings will come into your life on a regular basis to see if you will continue to obey Him or if you will follow the ways of the world.

Make the choice to pass these tests perfectly.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know what God requires of you; that you will choose to always obey all of God’s commands; and that you will trust God in times of testings and difficulties.

Numbers 20:8 The God Of The Impossible

Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink. Numbers 20:8

Every person has certain needs that have to be met or his life is in danger. Sometimes there appears to be no way that the need can be met. Every avenue of provision appears to be shut off or closed. One is in what is considered an impossible situation with no hope.

As the Israelites were traveling through the desert, they had no water available. After they complained, God told Moses and Aaron to speak to a rock and it would pour out water for them to drink.

Water is one of the essential needs on this earth regardless of where one lives. While most places have water relatively abundant, the desert is one place in which there is very little to no water to be found. Survival can sometimes appear to be impossible.

Situations will often arise in the life of a person in which there seems to be no way of surviving. The difficulty is greater than one can handle, on his own. God, however, is a God who does what is appears to be impossible.

Water never comes from a rock by speaking to it yet, God is able to do so. People have sinned against God and have a death sentence upon their head, but God made a way to remove that sin. No one can walk on the top of water, yet God had Peter walk on water during a storm.

There is nothing so great of a problem that God cannot fix or provide a way through it.

You will have times where you will be faced with situations that appear impossible to overcome. There does not appear to be any solution and it looks hopeless.

Do not allow yourself to complain and go into despair. Look to God and seek His help. Put your trust in His promises to meet your every need, no matter how great or how small that need is and no matter how easy or difficult it appears to be.

If you can trust God with removing your sins, you can trust Him to meet your physical needs. He is the God of the impossible.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God to meet all of your needs; that you will trust God’s provision; that you will not lose hope in impossible situations; and that you will see God bring you through impossible circumstances in your life.

Genesis 45:8 Don’t Be Upset With Circumstances

“So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt.” Genesis 45:18

Blaming is something that many people love to do. People, things, circumstances and God are blamed for what is occurring or has occurred in a person’s life. As this occurs, most people are doing it out of anger or being upset.

Very rarely does a person see the purpose or good in what is occurring or has occurred. All they are looking at is the circumstance and what went ‘wrong’.

After revealing himself to his brothers, Joseph tells them that it was God who put him in Egypt in order to help rule Egypt and save many people, despite his brothers having sold him into slavery.

Unless a person knows all the details ahead of time, most people do not like to go through change or a move. This is even more true if in the process of the change it will be painful or being falsely accused and abused.

Looking at Joseph’s life, he had to be sold into slavery, so that he could be put into prison, so that he could help Pharaoh, so that he could save his family from the famine. God saw that ahead of time and put him in place.

God will move a person out of his comfort zone in order to be used in a greater way further down the road. Instead of being angry at people, things and God, the believer, who is following God, will trust God’s hand in the situations, knowing that God knows what is best for all.

Through what appears to be negative situations, God can raise a person up to save a nation and change the world.

God will allow things to occur in your life that do not appear to be good. You may be falsely accused and abused in bad ways.

As these things occur, you will have two choices. You can either be very angry and vengeful, or you can choose to lean on God and trust that He knows what He is doing and allowing.

In and through every situation in your life, God can use you to be His witness and hand of provision and life to others. He may have to move you to use you.

Are you willing to be used by God through any circumstance?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see God’s hand at work in your life; that you will trust God’s work in your life; that you will see God’s purpose in the circumstances of your life; and that God will use you to reach many people for Jesus.

Genesis 18:14 Nothing Too Difficult For God

Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son. Genesis 18:14

Being able to accomplish whatever one desires is the hope of many people. Despite all of the desire, often people run into challenges that they are not able to overcome. Many find that there are some things that are too difficult for them to accomplish.

Doubt fills the minds of many people when they watch someone start to attempt to solve an impossible task. When someone is able to complete a near impossible task, others stand amazed and wonder how he did it.

God appeared to Abram and told him that in a year he would have a son, though he and Sarah were very old. Sarah laughed at hearing this. God asked if anything is too hard for Him.

Mankind has a very limited view of life and the abilities in the spiritual realm. He is limited by time and space. All that one can see is straight ahead and what is physically visible.

Having this limited vision, people cannot see the numerous possibilities that God can see and do. As a result of this, many doubt God’s word to them. They see the task in front of them as impossible and struggle with believing that God can overcome the challenges.

God is The God who created everything. If He can create the universe out of nothing, He has the power and authority to do anything that is needed to be done. No task is too difficult for Him. He can override science and the thinking of man to accomplish His will.

Instead of laughing and doubting God’s ability, every believer must believe God’s word and know that God will be able to do what He says He will do.

God may have laid a task before you that appears to be impossible. Or you may have a struggle in front of you that you do not know how to overcome.

Turn your eyes off of what appears to be impossible and put them on God, the God of impossibilities. Instead of laughing at and doubting God, trust Him and believe that He will make a way.

If Jesus could raise from the dead, anything you are going through will be easy. Nothing is too hard for God.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God has a plan for your life; that you will trust God to work through difficult things; that God can accomplish the impossible; and that God will fulfill every promise to you as you trust in Him.
