2 Kings 3:18 An Easy Thing For God

This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord; he will also deliver Moab into your hands. 2 Kings 2:18

There are times when a person must do some task that appears or actually is very difficult for him to do. The task can be very overwhelming and stop a person from completing what needs to be done.

While it is difficult for one person, it can be a very easy thing for someone else to accomplish. He walks in and does the task as though there is nothing to it.

Joram, king of Judah, and Jehoshaphat, king of Israel, worked together to stop the king of Moab, but needed God’s help. Elishah told them that God would bring in the needed water in the valley and deliver Moab into their hands and that this was an easy thing for God to do.

Impossible tasks appear in the lives of people on a regular basis. Things are so difficult that there appears to be no way in order to solve them. People search for advice and often come up short and begin to fear the future feeling defeated.

Instead of fearing a situation, believers need to look to God for a solution. God’s wisdom, strength and abilities is so far above and beyond that of any person that anything that needs to be done is very easy to accomplish.

One needs to remember that God created the heavens, the earth and everything in them. If God can create all of this, the challenges in one’s life are very simple to deal with. Not only can God deal with a difficulty with ease, but He can also do it in amazing ways that defy normal logic or methods.

Believers do not need to fear a difficult situation when their trust is in the Lord and not in themselves or others.

You may have some difficult situation in your life that you do not know how to deal with. It may appear overwhelming and destructive and that it will take you out. Seek God for wisdom, direction and help in the situation. He knows the best way to overcome the difficulty.

No matter how large the situation may appear to be, God is bigger. There is nothing in your life that is too difficult for God to do with ease in His way and in His time. It is an easy thing for God to do.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God to help you overcome any difficulty in your life; that you will trust God’s method to overcome challenges; and that you will see God work through any difficulties in your life.

1 Samuel 30:6 Where To Find Strength

David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30:6

Difficulties arise in the lives of people on a regular basis. In order to deal with the difficulty, people will turn to many different things to find strength. Movies, music, drugs, sex, other people and more are sought out to get the needed strength to cope with what is going wrong. Rather than finding the needed strength, they gain more problems to deal with.

After the families of David and his men had been captured, his men wanted to stone David. David found his strength to continue in God.

Just as the world seeks to gain strength through the things of this world, many believers will do the same. Some will turn to sinful things in the process of seeking the needed strength to deal with difficult situations. Others will turn to Christian music, ministry, services, books and other Christian things to find their strength.

While all of these things may be good, they are things made by man and can fall short of what is really needed. Instead of seeking the things of man, good or bad, one needs to seek God.

God is eternal and is everywhere. He is perfect love and has perfect wisdom for every situation. No matter how bad the situation is, God can provide hope, comfort and the needed strength to make it through the situation. He will lead the believer in the right direction without leading him into sinful thoughts or actions.

Sometimes God will remove the difficulty, while other times He may give strength through the difficulty. It comes to turning to God and trusting Him for what is needed.

There will be times in your life that you will face extreme difficult and maybe even dangerous situations in your life.
Temptation will arise to get you to react as the world does, taking things into your own hands or falling into despair and hopelessness.

Rather than going the way of the world, turn to God and seek Him. Flee the temptation of sin and death. Rely upon God to give you the needed strength to keep moving forward in His ways and His plan for your life. His strength will be everlasting and more than enough.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God for strength in every situation in your life; that you will trust God for the needed strength; that God will guide you away from sinful choices; and that you will see God’s hand at work in your life.

Ruth 1:16 No Going Back

But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16

During extremely difficult times, many people like to return to where they were before the difficult times. No matter how good or bad the past was, people desire to go back to it rather than face major problems in life.

Staying on the path forward through extreme difficulties is hard for most people. Going back is easier.

During extreme famine and many difficulties, Naomi urged her daughter in laws to go back to their homelands and their former gods. Ruth, one of her daughters, stated she would not go back and would stay with her and her God.

Looking at a difficult road ahead can always make it seem easier and better to go back to the place one was. The life of a believer is often filled with difficulties because the world is against the believer and wants to destroy the believer.

Sadly, many believers will see the difficult times and blame God and then go back to the worldly way of living. It appears easier to live a life in sin, rather than go through the temporary trials as a believer. Living the life of the world may give a moment of pleasure, but in the end, it is death and suffering for eternity.

No matter how difficult life is right now, there is hope for the believer. In the end there is eternal life with no more problems, sickness, pain or suffering. Once one has begun the road to follow Jesus, he must not turn back to the world, no matter the challenges, but keep going forward.

As a believer the world is going to be against you and work to destroy your faith in God. Because there is sin in the world, it will not always be easy to walk with God.

Do not allow yourself to be deceived into thinking that the old ways of sin and the world is easier and better. Put all of your focus and trust in God and His ways of living.

All the pain and suffering you may be going through now will appear light and worth it all when you step into heaven with God for all eternity.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will trust God’s plan for you; that God will give you strength to walk the path He has you on; and that you will never turn away from God for the rest of your life.

Deuteronomy 8:2 God Tests You To Know Your Heart

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. Deuteronomy 8:2

Starting as a young child every person must take tests throughout their life. Tests attempt to reveal what a person knows or is able to accomplish. These tests can reveal mental knowledge, physical abilities, and character traits.

Although tests can be difficult and are often hated, they can reveal where a person needs to change or grow.

Moses reminded the people of how God tested them in the wilderness to know whether they would keep His commands or not.

Going through a difficult time of testing is very seldom the desire of anyone. It can be very scary and painful. Choosing the right answers can sometimes be mind-boggling or confusing.

Throughout the scriptures God teaches those who choose to believe in Him how He desires them to live their life to the fullest. Life lived this way is one of faith and trust in God alone. It is knowing that He knows the best way to live.

A person can easily say that he believes in Jesus, but it is much more difficult to obey His commands. The commands of God will often go against the ways of this fallen world.

God will purposefully place difficulties in the path of a believer to test him. He wants to see whether the believer will seek Him, obey Him and trust His word and guidance. These difficulties are not always meant to punish and never to destroy, but to build up, to reveal weak areas to be worked upon.

Testing will come to reveal what is really in the heart of a person.

From the moment you chose to believe in Jesus, God has revealed to you how He wants you to live your life. The basics of it is to love Him with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength.

Now that you know how you are to live, God will test you to find out if you have learned to live that way. Difficulties and testings will come into your life on a regular basis to see if you will continue to obey Him or if you will follow the ways of the world.

Make the choice to pass these tests perfectly.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know what God requires of you; that you will choose to always obey all of God’s commands; and that you will trust God in times of testings and difficulties.

Numbers 20:8 The God Of The Impossible

Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink. Numbers 20:8

Every person has certain needs that have to be met or his life is in danger. Sometimes there appears to be no way that the need can be met. Every avenue of provision appears to be shut off or closed. One is in what is considered an impossible situation with no hope.

As the Israelites were traveling through the desert, they had no water available. After they complained, God told Moses and Aaron to speak to a rock and it would pour out water for them to drink.

Water is one of the essential needs on this earth regardless of where one lives. While most places have water relatively abundant, the desert is one place in which there is very little to no water to be found. Survival can sometimes appear to be impossible.

Situations will often arise in the life of a person in which there seems to be no way of surviving. The difficulty is greater than one can handle, on his own. God, however, is a God who does what is appears to be impossible.

Water never comes from a rock by speaking to it yet, God is able to do so. People have sinned against God and have a death sentence upon their head, but God made a way to remove that sin. No one can walk on the top of water, yet God had Peter walk on water during a storm.

There is nothing so great of a problem that God cannot fix or provide a way through it.

You will have times where you will be faced with situations that appear impossible to overcome. There does not appear to be any solution and it looks hopeless.

Do not allow yourself to complain and go into despair. Look to God and seek His help. Put your trust in His promises to meet your every need, no matter how great or how small that need is and no matter how easy or difficult it appears to be.

If you can trust God with removing your sins, you can trust Him to meet your physical needs. He is the God of the impossible.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God to meet all of your needs; that you will trust God’s provision; that you will not lose hope in impossible situations; and that you will see God bring you through impossible circumstances in your life.
