Mark 3:11 Realizing Who Jesus Really Is

Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” Mark 3:11

History books are filled with hundreds of thousands of names of people that had existed at some point in time. Their stories are written about. Some are very detailed, while others are just the name mentioned once.

Most people are willing to accept that those people were real and what was said about them. The majority, though, have a different opinion about Jesus and what the Bible says about Him.

As Jesus went along, there were times people came to Him that were possessed by evil spirits. When these evil spirits saw Jesus they would fall down. They knew who Jesus really was.

Nearly all of the world will acknowledge that Jesus did exist. The majority will also agree that He was a good teacher and a good person. But very few realize who He really is. Their vision of Him is just a teacher and a good man, and nothing more than that.

All of Scripture testifies that Jesus was God’s Son. He is God in the flesh. What does this mean to a person? It means that Jesus IS the creator of all things. It means that He HAS full, absolute authority. It means He IS the only way to God. It means He IS truth. It means He IS the Savior.

When a person realizes who Jesus really is, he will be like the evil spirits that fell before Him and will fall down before Him. Those who realize this will submit to His authority and not demand their own way. They will humble themselves before Jesus, knowing how unworthy and sinful they are. And they will claim He is LORD–The Master, The Savior, not just a good teacher or a good person.

When you hear about Jesus who do you see Him as?

Do not be like the majority of the world and see Him as just a good teacher. Realize that He is God’s Son, the one and only Savior. He is the only way to God. He is truth.

Allow Jesus to be all these things and more to you in your life. Jesus can and will give you an abundant and eternal life if you will make Him LORD-MASTER of your life and not just a good, moral teacher.

Today I pray that God will open your eyes to see who Jesus really is; that you will humble yourself before Jesus; that Jesus will be Lord of your life; and that you will live your life for God.
