Mark 3:11 Realizing Who Jesus Really Is

Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” Mark 3:11

History books are filled with hundreds of thousands of names of people that had existed at some point in time. Their stories are written about. Some are very detailed, while others are just the name mentioned once.

Most people are willing to accept that those people were real and what was said about them. The majority, though, have a different opinion about Jesus and what the Bible says about Him.

As Jesus went along, there were times people came to Him that were possessed by evil spirits. When these evil spirits saw Jesus they would fall down. They knew who Jesus really was.

Nearly all of the world will acknowledge that Jesus did exist. The majority will also agree that He was a good teacher and a good person. But very few realize who He really is. Their vision of Him is just a teacher and a good man, and nothing more than that.

All of Scripture testifies that Jesus was God’s Son. He is God in the flesh. What does this mean to a person? It means that Jesus IS the creator of all things. It means that He HAS full, absolute authority. It means He IS the only way to God. It means He IS truth. It means He IS the Savior.

When a person realizes who Jesus really is, he will be like the evil spirits that fell before Him and will fall down before Him. Those who realize this will submit to His authority and not demand their own way. They will humble themselves before Jesus, knowing how unworthy and sinful they are. And they will claim He is LORD–The Master, The Savior, not just a good teacher or a good person.

When you hear about Jesus who do you see Him as?

Do not be like the majority of the world and see Him as just a good teacher. Realize that He is God’s Son, the one and only Savior. He is the only way to God. He is truth.

Allow Jesus to be all these things and more to you in your life. Jesus can and will give you an abundant and eternal life if you will make Him LORD-MASTER of your life and not just a good, moral teacher.

Today I pray that God will open your eyes to see who Jesus really is; that you will humble yourself before Jesus; that Jesus will be Lord of your life; and that you will live your life for God.

Mark 3:11 Even They Knew Him

Bowing Down

Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” Mark 3:11

It was common for Jesus to go around healing people. As He would do this, many people would come around Him and crowd Him. They wanted to see what was happening or to be healed. The impure spirits would fall before Him and cry out who He really was.

Jesus was an unusual mystery to most of the people. They had never seen someone going around and healing like Jesus did. Not only did He do continual healing, but He also had power over the demons.

While many people accepted what Jesus was saying and doing, there were some who would go around condemning Him. All they could see was a regular man who grew up as a carpenter. He looked just like any other person around at the time.

Yet, Jesus was not just another regular man. He was God’s Son. Jesus had the power and authority that God had and He was using it on this earth. He spoke with God’s authority whenever He spoke. While many people saw this, there were many others who did not.

Times have not changed anything. Talk about Jesus happens all the time, especially around Easter and Christmas. People talk about who He really was. Most accept that He really did exist, but few accept that He is the Son of God. Many do not like to think about the spiritual realm of life.

While people refuse to acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God, there are demons who fall down before Him acknowledging who He is. The demonic world knows who Jesus is and the power and authority that He has. There is no doubt in their minds.

You, as a believer, must decide who you see Jesus as. Was He just a good prophet? Or just a good teacher?  Was He just a man?

Or is He someone more?

When you realize who Jesus is–the Son of God–you will be like the demons in that you will fall down before Him. You will give Him full authority over your life. You will honor Him for who He really is.

Jesus is either just an ordinary man. Or He is the Son of God.

Jesus is either your Savior. Or He will be your judge.

Do you know Jesus?

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the power Jesus has; that you will know the authority Jesus has; and that you will live for Jesus.

Matthew 10:1 You Are Given Authority

Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. Matthew 10:1

Jesus had started His ministry and chosen some men to follow Him. He had taken some time to train them and allow them to see Him in action. Now He was sending them out to do the same ministry He was doing. Jesus gave them authority to cast out spirits and heal those who are sick.

Demonic presence in the lives of people is a very real thing. In today’s society many do not believe in demonic spirits, this is especially true in America. In some countries, it is a very common belief. Yet, demonic spirits are a real part of life.

Often people allow demonic spirits in by accepting false beliefs or actions. Their actions are explained away by the way they grew up, society’s influence, drugs, illnesses or some other event in their life. Very rarely is it looked at as demonic spirits, as was seen often in the Bible.

Sickness, however, was common in the Bible and is still common today. Everyone has had it or seen sickness. Everyone accepts that it is real today.

Jesus gave all His believers/followers the authority to cast out any demonic spirits and to heal all forms of sickness. Reading the Bible, one never sees that Jesus prayed for a healing or a release of impure spirits and it did not occur. That same authority has been given to every believer today.

One of the reasons why Jesus could always heal people, was that He only did what the Father told Him to do. He also had faith in His Father to do what He asked, because He followed Him so closely.

You also have that same ability if you choose to follow Jesus and the Father with all of your heart, soul and mind. Keeping your eyes on the Father will allow you to know what He wants and when He wants it.

Jesus gave you all the authority you need to command spirits out of a person or place and to heal all types of sickness. Sickness and spirits have no control over you and have to obey you, if you are in God’s will.

As you pray for these types of needs, pray knowing God has given you the authority. Take command over sickness and spirits.

I pray today that you will know the power Jesus has given you; that you will keep your eyes on God; that you will only do and say what God tells you to do and say; and that God will work miracles for His kingdom through you.
