Psalm 37:5-6 How To Shine

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Psalm 37:5-6

Most people like to be seen as a good person. They strive to show how much they have done that is good, or show how bad someone else is compared to them.

Those in the world, show how they have physically or materially helped people in need. They get together with others to get support for some philanthropic task trying to help build other people up and meet their needs. They urge government changes in order to help others.

In the church, many speak grand words from the bible and talk about how much they read the Bible or pray. Others constantly talk about how much they do in and for the church, often bringing up tithes and offerings.

None of these things are necessarily bad, but they do not make a person truly shine. The shine they have is the dull shine of this world.

Focusing your eyes on God and His ways, and then trusting Him will bring about the desired results of shining.

When you have a heart that is sold out (committed) to Him and you are fully trusting that God will guide you in the best way possible, that is when you will begin to shine. You have to be willing to do what God wants and want what He wants in your life. As you do that while trusting Him, God will be able to do great things in and through you.

God will then be able to raise you up and make your righteousness shine like the sun. It will be clear to everyone that you have been forgiven of all sins and belong to Him.

The noonday sun is very bright and cannot be hidden. Your life will be the same as you commit yourself to God’s ways. Your life will stand out as different.

Have you committed all of your ways to God?

Are you trusting Him with all of your life?

Try Him and see what He can and will do in you and with you today.

I pray today that you will be committed to God’s ways; that God will reveal His ways to you; that you will trust God for everything; and that God will make you shine His light in this world.
