Zambia is a nation that has very little war inside of it while being surrounded by nations at constant war. It enjoys its peace, but has its own struggles. The majority of the people live in poverty. Nearly 50% of the children are malnourished from lack of food. Around 40% of the people do not have access to clean water. Outside the urban areas, the illiteracy rate runs extremely high. Due to high levels of sex trafficking, AIDS infection runs very heavy throughout the country.
Many people from Zambia have been able to receive college education to become doctors, but they do not stay in their own country. They travel to other nations around the world to be doctors there rather in their own nation where it is needed.
In the early 1990’s, the president of Zambia declared the nation to be a Christian nation. There is great freedom to be Christian throughout the land. Very few, however, go out and evangelize others to become believers. Leaders need to be raised up and trained to be a witness and build the churches. People need to be trained that the old ways of witchcraft and superstition are not the ways of God.
