Dr. Jeff Myers, the president of Summit Ministries, an organization that helps younger people to develop, maintain and share a Biblical worldview, is the author of this book. His focus in this book is showing how there is only one Truth and how that one Truth brings about change throughout the world.
In the beginning of the book, he describes how there is Truth and truths and what the difference is. Truth is God’s Truth–Jesus Christ and God’s Word.
Lower case, truths, is what the world is claiming as truth. In current culture, it is commonly maintained that truth is based on one’s own reality and thinking. What is true for one, may not be true for another. How a person thinks or feels is truth for that person, regardless of anything else. One example of this is a boy who believes he is a girl, regardless of biological features on the boy. The world believes he is speaking his truth.
Throughout the book, Dr. Myers uses each chapter to show how true believers, with Truth, have changed the world in dramatic ways, unlike any non-believer. They have changed how we have given value to human life, care for one another, learn and grow, developed science, arts, politics and the pursuit of justice.
Just a few examples of this are how some of the greatest scientific discoveries were made by men and women who have a strong belief in God. It was believers who have created the greatest hospitals all over the nation and world. It is believers who valued human life and provided for the poor and needy in mighty ways. He points out in each of these areas also how the world uses truths to destroy life, politics, art and all the other areas of life.
The last few chapters help the reader, who is a believer, how to stand for truth in a kind and gentle way. He encourages believers to stand for truth, regardless of the consequences.
At the end of each chapter, Dr. Myers lists some ways how the reader can move forward with the given information. This book is a relatively an easy read but packed full of great information. He quotes many books and speakers, both in the past and the present times, giving reference to each one.
I highly recommend reading this book because it will open your eyes to how much Christianity has impacted the world is great ways. The world says that Christianity is destroying freedoms and life, but this reveals how true Christianity is not doing that. This book will open your eyes to the lying truths of this world and the eternal Truth of God.
