Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn away from it and pass on. Proverbs 4:14-15
Different paths are open to walk on every day by people all over the world. Each day people have to make a choice of which path they will walk in order to get to their desired destination. Choosing the wrong path will cause one to never get to their destination. Some paths will only lead to disaster and failure.
Solomon encourages the readers to never enter the path of the wicked or ways of evil. They are to avoid it, never travel on it, pass by it and keep on going.
The world is on a path of fulfilling self desires. This path focuses on pleasing self at any cost, with no solid standard of what is right or wrong, anything goes. As a result, wickedness and evil are prevalent and acceptable.
Evil ways of living are accepted, promoted and encouraged. Anyone who speaks out against sinful ways of living is considered one who hates and does not love.
Many believers, out of fear of being called a hater, are choosing to walk the path of the wicked and evil. They participate in the wickedness of the world as though nothing is wrong with it.
People who are truly following after God will flee all wickedness and sin. They will avoid walking in sin at any cost to their life. The only path that they are interested in is the path of righteousness and holiness that God has set before them. Jesus did not pay the price for a believer to continue to walk in sin, but to be set apart, holy, different, on a different path that avoids all evil at all costs.
In the same way as you must choose a path to travel to go to work, school or anywhere else, you must be willing to choose a path through this life. There will always be the choice of the path of evil, wickedness and sin presented to you in many different forms. There will also always be available the choice of the path of holiness and righteousness that Jesus has paved the way for you to walk in. Make the choice to avoid the path of sin, wickedness, evil and death. Choose to walk the path of holiness and life God has given you to walk.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you God will reveal His path for you; that you will walk in the path of holiness and righteousness; and that God will give you the strength to avoid the path of all sin.
