Then Job answered the Lord and said: I know that you can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. Job 42:1-2
All around the world there are colleges and universities that are filled with students learning every type of knowledge imaginable. This knowledge being learned is often for the purpose of having some type of a job skill to be used in the workforce to attempt to provide a higher paying job. Sometimes the knowledge works and allows someone to get a job, while other times it ends up being a very little value in the end.
After God speaks directly with Job, Job realizes that it is God who is in control and can do everything and that nothing can stop His purpose.
Knowing about things and how to do things can be good and useful to a point. It can help provide a way to work and earn and income. Or it can help understanding how to do something or keep from doing something. All of the knowledge that the world provides, however, is just temporary knowledge and often breaks down and fails.
Understanding and knowing that God can do everything is a foundation that will last for eternity. It sets a person up for being able to live a life that has meaning and purpose. Believers in God often go through extreme difficulties at times in their lives and some do not fully understand what is happening.
At the point the believer begins to know that God can do everything, and His purpose cannot be stopped, one can begin to understand the difficulties occurring. God allows troubles in the lives of believers to build them up and prove them to the world. This knowledge only comes through experience and trust in God.
There are a lot of things that you probably know and understand. All that knowledge helps you in this life. One thing that you must know is what God can do. Take time to learn who God is and what His character is.
There is nothing that God cannot do that you need in your life. His purpose for everything that He does or allows is to build you up and make you more like Christ Jesus. During times of trouble and pain, God’s purpose will still move forward in your life. He is in control.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know who God is; that you will know what God can do in your life; that you will trust God’s purpose for situations in your life; and that you will know God is building you up to be like Jesus.
