The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me; his word was on my tongue. 2 Samuel 23:2
Regardless of where one is there is always someone around who has something to say. They may talk about their day, their job, their children/grandchildren, their family, the things they are purchasing, politics or nearly anything else, but they will talk.
Some people like to quote what others have said or talked about. They will quote movies, books or speeches that they know about.
Either way they talk, they have something to say, some of value, some of little value and some even harmful.
David says that God’s Spirit spoke through him and gave him the words to say.
Talking about one’s day, the weather or even politics can have its place, but all of these things are just temporary. None of these things has a real place in eternity. New believers will often wonder what they are to talk about, especially when talking with someone still in the world as an unbeliever.
God knows what every person needs to hear at any given moment. He is willing to share what they need to hear by giving that information through His Holy Spirit. Just as God gave the prophets a word for the people in the Bible, He will give the believer a word for those around him.
The believer who is filled with the Holy Spirit and is listening will hear what God wants him to say. Along with that the believer must be reading, studying and memorizing Scriptures on a regular basis. This will allow for the Holy Spirit to bring back to remembrance what he has already been told giving him God word to speak into the lives of others.
God’s word can be on every believer’s lips. It is alive and able to change hearts and lives of people in all walks of life.
As a believer, God is ready and willing to share what He has to say to others through you. Open your heart and mind up to hearing what the Spirit is saying and then be bold and speak up at His leading.
Do not allow yourself to speak the words of the world that will only leading to disappointments and death in the end. Speak God’s word that will bring about hope and eternal life. Let God speak through you.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear what the Holy Spirit has to say; that you will speak the words of God; that others will hear you speak the words of God; and that lives will be changed and drawn to God with what you say.
