“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” Acts 2:36
All over the world, the one thing that people like is their freedom to make their own choices and to run their lives as they desire. At the same time they are looking for someone or some way to protect them from or get them out of the struggles of this world.
In desiring these things there are many different religions or beliefs to guide people. People often wonder which one, or ones, is correct.
After waiting for a time in Jerusalem, the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and the people were amazed. Peter stands up and tells the people that the one they crucified, Jesus, is now made both Lord and Messiah.
Questions often arise as to who Jesus was or is. Many throughout the world see Him as a good teacher and a good person, but nothing more. They do not see a reason to see Jesus as anything more than these things.
One thing that every person has coming to them is death, due to sin. In order to overcome this sentence of death, is to have a Messiah, or someone who can save them from that judgment of death. Jesus paid the price to overcome that judgment.
Once a person believes in Jesus, he must also allow Jesus to be Lord over him. This means that Jesus is the absolute ruler, controller of his life, in every area of one’s life.
Many have accepted Jesus as Messiah of their life, but have not chosen to allow Him to be Lord over their life. They love their freedom of choice.
The true believer will make Jesus both Messiah and Lord over his life.
You, like everyone else, has sinned against God and are receiving a death penalty upon your life. To get rid of that death penalty, you must allow Jesus to be your Messiah, Savior. Only He can remove that penalty.
Once you believe in Jesus as your Messiah, you must also allow Him to be your Lord. This is being the One who is in absolute, monarchial, dictatorial control over your life, in every area of your life.
Jesus has paid the price and earned both those positions over your life. It is your choice to accept or reject Him.
Will you allow Jesus to be your Lord and Messiah today?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know what Jesus has done for you; that you will allow Jesus to be your Lord; that you will do only what God tells you to do; and that you will be a witness for who Jesus is to this world.
