Matthew 21:44 Are You Broken Or Crushed?

Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed. Matthew 21:44

People in authority are there for a reason. They are in their position to ensure others learn and follow the procedures to get something accomplished.

Some people hate those in authority, because they desire to do things the wrong way or by cutting the corners and cheating the system. When they are caught, they are often punished or removed.

Those who follow the procedures are able to remain despite the pain of following all the regulations.

After quoting a verse about the stone being rejected, Jesus said that the one who falls on the stone will be broken, but the one on whom it falls will be crushed.

Ever since the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden, God had a plan to save every person. It would be done in procedure in which it was done by God and not by man himself. The final process of the salvation would be considered the capstone of the building of God’s kingdom.

This capstone would be the death and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus lived the perfect, holy life before God and man, thus was given all authority by the Father. He is able to judge and save anyone and everyone.

The person who recognizes his sin against God and his need for forgiveness and salvation, will fall upon Jesus for help. He will be broken before God as he turns his life over to Jesus. Afterwards he will be given eternal life.

Those who reject what Jesus has done will, in the end, fell the crushing power of His wrath because of their rejection. Although they may live a time here on the earth, in the end they will be condemned to death in hell for eternity.

God has given you a choice as to whether you will accept and follow Jesus or not. If you are willing to recognize your sin and need for Jesus, you will allow yourself to be broken in order to gain eternal life. You will allow Jesus control over your life.

If you choose to reject Jesus and what He has done for you, you will have only His wrath to look forward to that will crush you for all eternity.

Allow yourself to be broken before Jesus and let Him be ruler over your life.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know what God wants of you; that you will allow Jesus to rule over your life; that you will be broken before God; and that you will allow God to build you into the person He wants you to be.
