For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 2:11
Reading a person’s mind or thoughts is something people have always wanted to do. There has been many who claim that they can know the thoughts of another person. However, that cannot be done.
Magicians claim that they can read the minds of another person, yet, all they are doing is playing a trick on the person. It is done with a slight of hand or a play on words.
Married couples often believe that they can read each other’s minds. It is not actually reading their minds, but knowing how the other person will think or act in a given situation. They have been around each other long enough to possibly guess the correct answer. However, this same method of knowing the person’s thoughts, gets many into trouble, because they are wrong.
Some people claim to know the thoughts of God, yet, are not living for God or following God in any way. They just use the wisdom and understanding of this world to get their ideas of what God is thinking. Only God really knows what He is thinking.
God does know what He is thinking and is willing to share that information with people. The way that he shares it is through His Holy Spirit indwelling in a person. As a believer reads the Bible and prays, God’s Holy Spirit opens his spiritual eyes and ears to hear what God is saying. He will begin to understand the meaning in what God is saying.
The idea of God sending His one and only son to die on a cross to save a people who hate Him, is crazy and does not make sense from the world’s point of view. It is only when the Holy Spirit reveals His great love and master plan of salvation, does a person begin to understand what God did and why He did it.
As you read God’s word, you also need to have His Holy Spirit guide you in what He is saying and how to apply it to your own life. You will also need His Holy Spirit to help you to hear and understand what God is saying to you directly outside of the bible.
Allow the Holy Spirit to reveal what God’s thoughts are.
I pray today that you will allow God’s Holy Spirit to guide you; that God will reveal to you what He is saying and doing; that you will trust God’s thoughts and actions; and that you will share what God is doing with others.
