Hosea 12:6 Waiting For God

But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always. Hosea 12:6

Jacob was the man whose family God chose to become His nation of people. In the beginning of Jacob’s time, he fought with an angel to get God’s blessings. He had to wait for God to provide those blessings. It took many years and a lot of struggles, but his children did receive the blessing and favor of God, they became a nation who followed God.

Over time the nation chose to walk away from God. Hosea is now calling them to return to God and follow His ways. Just like Jacob, they are told to wait for God.

Waiting is something that most people do not really like to do. People want what they want, and they want it right now. In fact, they want it ten minutes ago, now is too late. No matter how fast a computer is, people want it faster. No matter how fast the service is at a restaurant, some want it faster. People are impatient.

Believers have this same problem with God, they get very impatient. They stop and pray for a moment for something to happen or the favor of God in some situation, and expect their prayer to be answer in their way, right away. When God does not answer it in their way, right away, many think that God does not love them or did not hear them, or is against them. At that point, many choose to walk away from God and stop following His ways.

Following and believing in Jesus means that you will wait upon God for everything. You will trust that God has heard your prayers and will answer in His time and in His way.

As you are waiting on God to provide His answer to your prayer, you must maintain your love for God and for others. You must also stand true to His word and maintain the truth in this world.

Satan and this world will strive to get you to believe that God will not answer you, but it is not the truth. Wait on God and He will answer. He will not only answer you, but He will give you the best answer possible to your situation.

Are you trusting and waiting on God?

I pray today that you will know God hears your prayers; that God will give you the patience to wait for His answer; that you will ignore the lies of this world about God; and that you stay faithful to God as you wait for Him.
