2 Samuel 6:22 Excited Like At A Football Game

“I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.” 2 Samuel 6:22

As King David was having the ark of brought back into Jerusalem, after being gone for a long time, he was excited. He had started leaping and dancing. His wife, Michal, thought he was being foolish and hated him for it. David told her that he would become even more undignified and humiliated in order to celebrate God more. David was excited about God’s presence coming back into Jerusalem.

People get excited when they are watching a football game, or soccer game, depending on where they live in this world. Many times people will color their face with their team colors. When a person’s team scores a point, that person will start shouting very loudly and jumping around. When the team loses a point, they get mad and scowl. They are excited about the game and are willing to let everyone know.

When God shows up, most people do not even realize that He is there. Then the ones who do recognize His presence, do not get very excited. They stand straight and dignified and quietly rejoice God is there.

Think about how great the presence of God is. Here is God, the One who created the universe and everything that is in it! He is present. He took time to be with you. How much greater is that then a temporary football team scoring a touchdown?

How excited are you about God’s presence showing up in your life?

Do not be ashamed of getting excited when God shows up in your life. Let the whole world know what is going on. This shows the world that you truly do believe in God and are following Him. It lets the world know that you are one of His greatest fans.

Do not allow the world to hold you back in rejoicing that God is there.

How do you rejoice when in God’s presence?

I pray today that you will know when God is present in your life; that you will let the world know that God is there; that you will show the world your excitement for God’s presence; and that you will not be ashamed of God being in your life.
