Acts 4:29 Prayer For Boldness

“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.” Acts 4:29

The disciples had just been brought in for questioning by the authorities and were told not to speak in the name of Jesus anymore. They were threatened with further imprisonment if they continued to speak of Jesus. Instead of running scared, the disciples prayed for more boldness to speak His word.

Throughout the years the view of Christians and Jesus has changed back and forth. For a period they are looked upon and accepted, then for a time they are hated. Different places in the world would accept Jesus, while other places would reject Him and fight.

Currently in America, the trend is starting to lean towards rejecting Jesus and anything about Him. Threats are rising against Christian belief and testimony. More and more believers are being told to not speak about Jesus.

Years ago it started with not speaking in the public schools. Now many businesses are not allowing their workers to talk about Jesus.

There are some Christians, when they are threatened like this, who choose to stay quiet. Others are willing to pray the prayer the disciples prayed. They are willing to pray for boldness to be His witness.

There is a challenge in praying that type of prayer. It is God’s desire that every believer tells everyone they can about Jesus. When He hears a prayer for boldness to be His witness, God will grant it quickly. He will open doors to be His witness.

Now, as the believer, you must act upon those doors opening up. You must make the most of every opportunity to be a witness. The more you are willing to be His witness the more the opportunities will present themselves.

Do not back down, or ignore the chances to be a witness for Jesus. People are dying without knowing Jesus everyday. Do your most to let them know about Jesus. Do not fear what men may threaten or say to you about being His witness.

Ask Jesus for His boldness to be His witness today. Bring Jesus to the world with no fear.

I pray today that God will fill you with His boldness; that you will see the opportunities to be His witness; that God will remove all fear of any threats against you; and that God will give you His favor in reaching the lost.
