John 3:36 Belief Vs. Rejection

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.” John 3:36

John is talking about the fact that Jesus came from heaven and no one accepts what He had to say. He points out that God has put all everything into the hands of Jesus and given Him the Spirit without any limits to guide Him. Now he states that anyone who believes in Jesus will have eternal life. The opposite is that they will have God’s wrath.

In the world there are many people who state that they believe in Jesus. Even the Muslims, who are against Christians, have a belief in Jesus. This belief, however, is a belief that He had existed and was a good person. The bad part of this is that is where it stops in the belief. There is no real belief in what He said and did.

Belief, here, is knowing His words and following them. Believing that what He said was true. Jesus stated that men are sinful and need their sins removed. He stated that He was the one sent to remove those sins. He stated that He died and rose again.

The world does not like the idea of having sin. They do not like to have to change. They do not believe that Jesus arose from the dead. The world has rejected Jesus. With that rejection comes God’s wrath. Although they seem to be having a good time now, there will be a time to come when God will pour out all His wrath on them for rejecting Jesus.

Are you believing in Jesus? Do you take His words to heart and follow them? Do you obey what Jesus said? Are you telling others about Jesus and what He has done for them?

Or are you like the world in believing that Jesus was just a good teacher? Do you believe that He is now dead? Are you rejecting His teachings? Do you believe that there are many ways to heaven?

Choose today who you will believe and serve.

I pray today that God will reveal to you all that Jesus has done for you; that you will see Jesus as God and Savior; that you will know that Jesus is alive today; that you will not reject Jesus in any part of your life; and that you will openly tell others about Jesus.
