“And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3
Yesterday you saw that being like a little child is having total faith in God with no fear. Today a different aspect of being a little child will be looked at.
Every child born, is born with no real knowledge. All they know is who their mother is, how to eat and how to breathe. They must learn all other things. They are in the early learning stages of life.
Between home and school, they learn about how to speak, write, read, and other subjects needed in life. Along with all that learning they must also learn what is right and wrong. Children must learn what is acceptable behavior and what is not.
Many times as you see a child grow you can watch their words and actions and see one or both of their parents in those words and actions. Every child takes on a part of the characteristic of the one teaching them, especially the one they are around the most.
How does this apply to you as an adult Christian? Every person who believes in Jesus is also learning. No one knows absolutely everything about God; nor does anyone know how to act and speak in every situation. Only God knows that answer. For each person these are times of learning from God.
If a child never grew or learned anything, everyone would be concerned for the child. Something would be wrong. You, also, need to grow in Jesus.
Each day you must learn something new in Jesus. Learn how to act and speak correctly. Just like a child is growing up to be like his parents or teachers, to be a good model citizen; you, also, must grow up to be like Jesus and a good model citizen of heaven.
Are you going to be like a child today? Are you willing to learn from God? Or will you be like the rebellious child and refuse to learn or do what you were taught?
Jesus said that unless you are like a child, you cannot get into heaven. Be like a child today. Learn and grow more like Jesus.
I pray today that God will show you how to live for Him; that God will reveal to you how to be like Jesus; that you will cast off your pride and be like a child in your walk with Jesus; that you will trust God will train you correctly in the best manner; and that God will use you to build His kingdom.
