“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
Every person has some worry about something. Today, stress is a very common problem with people. People are worried about the economy; how to pay their bills; the crime rate; children’s education; vehicle maintenance; their jobs; how they appear to others; and many other things.
The world even knows that a lot of worry and stress can be bad. Everywhere you look, you will see ads for some type of medicine to help with stress. Stress causes all kinds of physical problems in a person’s body, from the common cold all the way to death.
Peter tells you to cast your anxiety upon God. Anxiety is another way of saying worries. Worry is a nice way of saying stress. All those things you are worried about, you are to cast upon God because He does care for you. God paid the high price of the death of His Son for you, He wants to take care of you and keep you in the best condition possible.
It has been said that most of the things a person worries about will never happen. Everything a person may worry about cannot be changed or stopped by worry. Only action can bring about change.
Since action is the only thing that can bring about a change in a situation, cast your worries upon God. He is the one who can intervene in every situation and bring about any needed change. As was stated in a previous post, you will have troubles in this world and in these troubles you are to rejoice. God is using those troubles to build you and His kingdom.
Let God worry about the troubles and situations in your life. He is big enough to take care of them as needed. You must rest in Him and trust Him to either remove the trouble or bring you through that trouble. Your worrying will not help you in any way; it will only harm you. By your worrying, you are telling God that you do not trust Him in your situation. Trust God today.
I pray that God will help you to trust Him in every situation; that God will help you to stop worrying; that God will fill your heart with His peace; and that God will continue to build you into the image of Jesus every day.
