2 Chronicles 1:9 Call On God’s Promises

Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. 2 Chronicles 1:9

Promises are made on a daily basis by people all over the earth. Some of those promises are ignored and forgotten by either side or both of the parties involved. Others call out, expecting those promises to be fulfilled as they were given, wondering why they were not competed. Few are fully completed as promised without any questions or waiting.

Solomon had been made king and God asked him what he wanted. Solomon asks God to confirm the promise made to David, his father, since He made him king over all of Israel.

All throughout the bible God had made many different promises to His people. While some of these are very specific to a given person at a given time, there are many that are open promises to all people who believe in Jesus.

Even though several thousand years have passed since God made those promises, they are still relevant to this day. Along with all of those promises God still speaks specifically to His people and makes new and current promises.

Many believers in the church have heard of these promises but chose to not believe in them for themselves. Since people have failed to fulfill many promises, many people don’t believe God’s promises.

However, God never fails to fulfill a promise He has made. Instead of living in doubt, believers need to call upon God to fulfill His promises, believing that He will do what He said He would do. Every believer needs to step out in faith to live as God called him to live and trust that God will take care of him as He promised.

Examine the scriptures to see the promises God has made to you that you can hold on to. Seek and pray that God will speak to you and give you new promises for this day. God is ready and willing to speak to you through His word and through the Holy Spirit.

As God reveals His promises to you, hold on to them. Believe that God will fulfill His promises. Be bold in asking God to confirm what every promise that He has given. See what God will do when you call upon Him.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the promises of God; that you will believe the promises of God; that you will stand upon the promises of God; and that you will live as God has called you to live.

2 Kings 10:10 Never Failing Word

“Know then, that not a word the Lord has spoken against the house of Ahab will fail. The Lord has done what he announced through his servant Elijah.” 2 Kings 10:10 Promises are made every day by many people. It is common to hear promises being made by politicians during election time. Although millions of promises, by all kinds of people, are made on a daily basis, many are never fulfilled. People often question promises being made because they have been let down so many times in their past with broken promises. Doubt overrides trust.

After having many people killed of the house of Ahab, Jehu tells the people that not a word that God had spoken through Elijah against the house of Ahab will fail to be fulfilled.

When people hear promises being made and then the promises never being fulfilled, it can be very difficult to trust another promise being made. The expectation is that one will be let down, because that is what has occurred in the past on a regular basis.

God has made those who follow Him many different promises. The difficulty for many believers is that seeing how it is possible for those promises to be fulfilled is hard to see. Since they cannot see nor understand how the promise could be fulfilled, they begin to doubt.

One thing every believer must do is stop and take a look at all the promises that God has made that has already been fulfilled. Hundreds of promises about Jesus were made and have already been fulfilled. Since God has already fulfilled all of those promises, He will not fail to keep His word on what He has told the believer.

If one is willing to believe that God will save him, then he must also believe that God will fulfill His promises to take care of him and guide him.

Most likely people have let you down with the promises that they have made and never fulfilled. Do not allow their failures to transfer to God. He has never failed in keeping His word with others and will not start to fail with you.

Put your full trust in what God says and follow His ways and you cannot fail. Every word of God throughout all of scripture will be fulfilled in the right time and in the perfect way. God has never failed and will not start now with you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as Lord and Savior; that you will know the promises of God to you; that you will trust the promises of God; that you will see God fulfilling His word; and that you will walk in the promises of God.

1 Kings 1:30 Be A Person Of Your Word

I will surely carry out this day what I swore to you by the Lord, the God of Israel: Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he will sit on my throne in my place. 1 Kings 1:30

Millions of promises are made every day all over the world. Many are just made with speaking, while many are made with some type of signed contract or agreement.

Although all of these promises are made, many of them are also broken, sometimes almost immediately. Since so many are broken, most will require a signed contract for any promise.

As David was nearing his death, Adonijah tried to take the throne as king. David said he would fulfill his promise to Bathsheba that Solomon would be the next king and made him king.

Over the centuries of time, God has made many different promises to people. The majority of those promises have been fulfilled, while others are still in the works of being fulfilled.

Believers are to be just like God in fulfilling their promises. Yet, it is common for people, both believer and non-believer, to pull back on their promise and not fulfill it. Excuses are made to give reason why they cannot or will not fulfill the promise.

It would be better for a person to never make a promise than to make one and not fulfill it. God will hold a person accountable for every idle word he makes, this includes all of his promises made in haste of the moment.

While the world is quick to break a promise, believers should be separate and different in fulfilling their promises each and every time. Doing so will show integrity and that God will also fulfill His promises. Believers are the representatives of God here on earth.

Most likely you have made some promises to other people at some point in your life. You must be willing to work at fulfilling those promises. Seek God’s help and strength to fulfill all the promises you have made.

In your future you may also seek God for wisdom on what promises you should or should not make. Do not be hasty with your words and get yourself trapped into a promise you cannot keep.

Can people count on you to be a person of your word, just as God is a God of His word, fulfilling every promise?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will give you strength to fulfill all of your promises; that you will seek God’s wisdom in making a promise; and that people will see God’s faithfulness through your faithfulness to fulling your promises.

Genesis 28:15 God Will Be With You

I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. Genesis 28:15

When a person starts a new journey, he will often have someone by his side at the beginning. The friend will often remain there until there is trouble in the journey or if the journey gets to be too long.

Very few people like to stay on a journey that is difficult and filled with challenges. They choose to go back to what is comfortable, breaking their promise to stay through to the end.

Jacob, while on a journey back to his homeland, had a vision from God. God told him that He would be with him and watch over him to bring him back, and that He would not leave until He fulfilled His promises.

Although most people who become believers do not have to go on the same type of journey as Jacob, all are on a journey through this life. This journey is one that ends in heaven in eternity.

At the moment one becomes a believer and begins his new journey, God promises to be with him, watch over him and bring him through to the end fulfilling all of His promises.

Having God at one’s side on this journey is very important because the world will be against this journey. There will be trouble and attacks of the enemy. Many will try to get the believer off the path. He will need to seek God’s strength, direction and provision for the journey in order to make it all the way.

Every believer will have the hope that God is with him until every promise is fulfilled at the end of the journey.

Going through this life, you are on a journey. You are either on a journey to hell or to heaven. Both journeys will be filled with trouble and enemies striving to destroy you. Some will try to stop you from following God to destroy your soul.

Choose to follow the journey God has for you. Keep your focus upon God and hold onto His promises that He has made. God will never leave you and will bring you through the worst that the world can throw at you. He will bring you into heaven for eternity some day as promised.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will walk the journey with God at your side; that you will know God’s presence in your life; that you will see God’s provision and protection for your life; and that you will complete the journey with God.
