2 Chronicles 1:9 Call On God’s Promises

Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. 2 Chronicles 1:9

Promises are made on a daily basis by people all over the earth. Some of those promises are ignored and forgotten by either side or both of the parties involved. Others call out, expecting those promises to be fulfilled as they were given, wondering why they were not competed. Few are fully completed as promised without any questions or waiting.

Solomon had been made king and God asked him what he wanted. Solomon asks God to confirm the promise made to David, his father, since He made him king over all of Israel.

All throughout the bible God had made many different promises to His people. While some of these are very specific to a given person at a given time, there are many that are open promises to all people who believe in Jesus.

Even though several thousand years have passed since God made those promises, they are still relevant to this day. Along with all of those promises God still speaks specifically to His people and makes new and current promises.

Many believers in the church have heard of these promises but chose to not believe in them for themselves. Since people have failed to fulfill many promises, many people don’t believe God’s promises.

However, God never fails to fulfill a promise He has made. Instead of living in doubt, believers need to call upon God to fulfill His promises, believing that He will do what He said He would do. Every believer needs to step out in faith to live as God called him to live and trust that God will take care of him as He promised.

Examine the scriptures to see the promises God has made to you that you can hold on to. Seek and pray that God will speak to you and give you new promises for this day. God is ready and willing to speak to you through His word and through the Holy Spirit.

As God reveals His promises to you, hold on to them. Believe that God will fulfill His promises. Be bold in asking God to confirm what every promise that He has given. See what God will do when you call upon Him.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the promises of God; that you will believe the promises of God; that you will stand upon the promises of God; and that you will live as God has called you to live.
