Matthew 27:14 A Time To Be Silent

But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge–to the great amazement of the governor. Matthew 27:14

Accusations are one thing that most people can expect to happen at some point or another. People will see something or think that they saw something and begin to quickly accuse someone of doing wrong without any real facts to it.

When things like this occur, most people are very quick to defend themselves. They will give every reason as to why one should not believe the accusations. Keeping quiet and ignoring the accusations is one thing most refuse to do.

As Jesus was being tried in a court for doing wrong, He would not make any statements defending Himself. He neither accepted nor denied the charges being brought against Him to the amazement of everyone.

No one likes to be accused of doing something wrong when they have done nothing wrong. Most people will rise up to fight against the accusations with everything that they can.

As Jesus was being accused, one thing that Jesus was also doing was what the Father wanted Him to do and say. He knew that it was the Father’s will that He be tried, accused and sentenced to death. And He was not going to be the one to stop it and go against the Father’s will.

Believers need to be in tune with what God is doing in their lives. There will be times that God uses false accusations against the believer to do something. The believer must know when to speak up and fight back and when to keep silent and accept what is happening. This can only be done by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

God used the false accusations against innocent Jesus to bring about salvation for any who would believe.

There will be times when people will make a false accusation against you. At those times you must seek God’s direction as to what to do or say or not to do or say.

Do not allow pride and self to quickly rise up and strike back, if it is not God’s will to fight back. God may be using that situation to build you up or to build someone else up.

The world will see your actions and take note. They will see when it is God working through you. Know when to speak up and when to be silent.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will be guided by the Holy Spirit in what to do or say; that you will only do what God directs you to do; that God will give you strength and favor in times of false accusations; and that God will use you to build His kingdom.

Acts 25:7 Unprovable Charges

When Paul came in, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him. They brought many serious charges against him, but they could not prove them. Acts 25:7

Every day courts across the nation are filled with people being tried for many different things. The goal of the courts is supposed to be to seek the truth of a given situation and judge accordingly.

In every court case there is one side that tells the truth and one side that is telling a lie, one innocent and one guilty. No one really wants to be on the guilty side.

Paul was in court being tried. Those who were accusing him had brought many different charges against him, but none were able to be proven true. Paul was found to be innocent.

The world does not like believers and will often do what it can to destroy one. Following the ways of their leader, Satan, the world will cast many accusations against a believer.

Sadly, over the years there have been many believers who have been guilty of what was said. Believers guilty of embezzlement, cheating, lying, adultery, and much more.

Every believer should be living their lives in such a way that the world will be unable to accuse them of any wrongdoing. The world should be unable to prove any charges of doing wrong in the life of a believer.

When a believer is living his life as pure and holy, like that of Christ, Satan will be unable to prove any charges against him. The only charges a believer should be guilty of is doing what God wants done that is against the ways of the world. As long as it does not break God’s laws, one should never break the laws of man.

Each and every day you have a choice as to how you will live your life. You can live your life as the world lives, in sin and falsehood. Or you can live your life like that of Jesus, pure and holy.

The world is watching you and is waiting to accuse you of something. Live your life in such a way that the world can throw many accusations against you, but none of them can be proven.

Let your life be a witness of who God is to this dark and fallen world. Let the world be amazed when they cannot prove anything wrong against you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that God will guide you on how to live your life; that you will live a holy life as Jesus was holy; and that the world will be unable to prove any wrongdoing by you.

1 Peter 2:12 Live A Good Life

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. 1 Peter 2:12

When a person is watching the news, it can be seen that people are always accusing others of doing something wrong. Many times it is an accusation that goes back several, to many years. Millions of dollars are spent every year to pay lawyers and courts to prove that someone had done something wrong, or to defend a person that something was not done wrong.

These accusations show up in personal lives, the political realm, the public realm, entertainment industry, churches and more. There is no area of life that is not touched by accusations in this world.

The accusations are that someone has stolen, injured, abused, cheated, lied, hated, harmed or more, someone or something. Some of the people are found guilty, while others are not found guilty of the wrong doing.

There have been believers who have been accused of wrong doing. Some have been proven innocent, while others have been found guilty.

Since there are accusations in the world against other non-believers, there will be accusations against believers. Satan is an accuser and wants to blame someone, right or wrong, of doing wrong.

Peter tells the believers that they should live a good life. One that is so good, that when a person is accused, the world cannot find any proof of doing wrong.

Living a life this way, is living the same way that Jesus lived. They were unable to prove anything wrong in His life, though they tried.

Some believers have done much harm in how they spoke or acted towards the people of this world. They are guilty of treating people wrong.

The one who lives for God and does as Jesus did, will not be proven guilty of wrong doing.  His words and actions will be proven as good.

Take a look at your life and see how you act and speak around those who are not believers. Look at how you act and speak when in private. Will the courts be able to prove you did something wrong against God? Or will they find that you are truly living the way Jesus lived and are living a pure life of love?

Live your life in a way they cannot prove any wrong in it.

I pray today that you will know how Jesus lived; that God will guide you to live as Jesus did; that you will live a pure and holy life before all people; and that your life will be a witness of who Jesus is.
