Acts 24:13 Unable To Prove False Accusations

Nor can they prove the things of which they now accuse me. Acts 24:13

Accusations are something that people can give very easily. People are very quickly blamed for something and then they must strive to prove they are innocent of the accusation. In courts, the accuser must be able to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that the accused is guilty. If they are unable to prove it enough, the case is tossed out and the person is let free, being innocent of the accusation. If proven, then the person is punished accordingly.

Luke records in Acts that Paul was being tried in a court for stirring up the people and causing riots. Paul tells Governor Felix that they cannot prove what they were accusing him of doing.

Giving out an accusation against a person is easy to do. People see a part of the picture and feel that someone is to be blamed for what happened, often without knowing all of the details behind what occurred. Other times false accusations are purposefully put out there in an attempt to destroy a person.

Hating believers, the world is very quick to put out accusations against a believer. Sometimes the accusations are true, and the believer had messed up and did something wrong. Other times, the believer had done nothing wrong, as in the case of Paul, and is innocent. The world loves to throw false accusations against believers in an attempt to destroy the believer.

Although believers will make mistakes, they are to strive to live their lives holy and just before God and man. Their lives should be lived in such a way that the only accusations the world can cast are false ones that cannot be proven.

Living in this way is being a great light for the world to see that God made the person into a new creation, set apart, different from the world.

The world will try to accuse of you doing wrong against them when you speak God’s truth before them. Strive to live your life in such a way that all those accusations will fall short and only be false. Do not give them anything that they can prove that goes against God. Be guilty of living your life, holy and pleasing to God and for being His witness in this fallen world.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that the world will not be able to accuse of sin against God or them; that you will be a true witness for God for all to see; and that God will give you strength to stand up under the false accusations of this world.
