Pray for the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is a small island nation near South America that has suffered a lot of turmoil over the years. European and Dominican governments have exploited the land and the people for over 500 years, often taking what does not belong to them.
Over the years, the Catholic church has had a powerful influence in the nation. Many were converted to the Catholic belief, however, very few actually practice what they believe.
Evangelism among the protestant beliefs is slowly but steadily growing. When the gospel in presented in a simple but loving way, many are choosing to believe and follow Jesus. The challenge that many churches have is in financial provision. Working out of extreme poverty limits their abilities to spread the gospel message. Training of new believers is often missing. Several small bible schools exist, but very few are able to attend due to the cost.
Points to pray:
Good leadership of the nation
Provision for training of new believers
Hearts on fire to live for God
Desire to spread the gospel message
