Psalm 143:8 Knowing The Way To Walk

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. Psalm 143:8 

Traveling from one place to another requires that a person have directions on how to get there. Thirty years ago, this was done by asking for directions or reading a map that one would bring with him. Without some type of directions, one can never get to his destination.

In current times, the most common way to get directions is to pull up the directions on a GPS system. Usually this will be able to give the needed directions from wherever a person is at to where he wants to go. People trust the GPS system to get them to their destination.

Finding direction in life is much more challenging. Often people look to other people or books to get their direction.

David called out to God to give him direction. He fully trusted God to lead him correctly in life.

GPS systems can give directions to physical places, but are unable to guide a person in life. In life there are millions of different possible paths to take, millions of actions and reactions that are available.

Knowing which path to take can be nearly impossible for a person to do on his own. While seeking guidance from others can help, they can also fall short or lead in the wrong way.

The focus of the leading that people give is short term, limited only to this life. It does not have eternity in mind.

God is the only one who has perfect love and eternity in mind. He knows the beginning, the middle and the end at the same time. He knows the path that each person must take.

As a believer you must release your life into the hands of God. Trust that He knows what is best for you. Seek His guidance each day for the path for you to take in this life.

God is waiting there to guide you in what you should think, say and do each moment of every day. With God you will never lose connection, service or get an unknown location as you will with a man-made GPS system.

I pray today that you will hear God’s voice in your life; that you will listen to God’s directions; that God will guide you in the path you must take; and that you will trust God’s direction for your life.
