For I am full of words; the spirit within me compels me. Indeed my belly is like wine that has no vent; it is ready to burst like new wineskins. I will speak, that I may find relief; I must open my lips and answer. Job 32:18-20
Most people like to have their say in a situation. They want their voice to be heard. Looking on the television, one can find dozens of talk shows, talking about everything and anything. People like to talk.
Some people think about what they have to say before they say it, while others just blurt out what they want to say. These words can have either positive or negative effects on others, depending on what was said and how it was said.
There is nothing wrong with desiring to speak. God made people to speak.
Elihu, another friend of Job’s, chose to speak up. He was a younger person and so waited to speak. Now as he speaks, he points out that he is full of words and just needs to have his say, that he can wait no longer. He feels as if what he has to say is very important.
Having this feeling of needing to say something is something every believer should have. Inside of every believer is a message that every person in this world needs to hear. That message is the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the good news that God loves everyone and wants to save them.
This message should be so important to the believer, that it bubbles up inside of him and needs to be let out. The words need to be spoken as often as possible to everyone possible. There are nearly eight billion people on this planet, the majority of whom have never heard the message of Jesus. That word needs to be spread.
As a believer in Jesus, your heart should be breaking at seeing people lost in this world. You will not be able to reach everyone around the entire world, but you can reach people that you meet each day.
Your heart should be filled so much with God’s love that it is overflowing with words to tell people about Jesus. It should compel you to speak up and let people know the truth.
Do not allow fear to stop you from speaking. Let God’s love for you and others strengthen you to speak up give the gospel message today.
I pray today that you will know the love God has for all people; that God will open your eyes to see the need to be a witness of Jesus; that God will give you the words to speak; and that God will give you the boldness to speak.
