And they said to him, “We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.” So Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please.” Genesis 40:8
Having a dream or some type of vision is common for a lot of people. For most people the dreams are forgotten upon waking up. Some do remember the dreams but often ignore any meaning or significance to the dream that they had. Others will remember the dream and wonder what the dream had meant or why they had that dream.
While Joseph was in prison a chief butler and baker both had a dream. They complained that no one could interpret it. Joseph asked them if the interpretation of dreams did not belong to God and asked them to tell him.
The world will do their best to interpret dreams and events that occur. People will run to psychics and psychologists to help them understand what they are dreaming or going through. They turn to Taro cards and horoscopes to get the guidance that they are seeking.
Satan uses these things to get the people distracted and looking the wrong direction. It keeps people in the dark and living a lie. The interpretations given are always self-focused and vague, made up with the law of statistics that something will happen a certain way.
God promised that He would give people dreams in the end times. He allows people to have dreams to speak to them and to others.
Understanding the dreams is something that every believer must be willing to work at. This comes from turning to God to give the interpretation of the dream. God is ready and willing to open up spiritual eyes to see what He is trying to say when the believer trusts Him.
There may be times in which you have some dream in which you wonder what the meaning or purpose of that dream was. It is in those times that it may be God trying to speak to or through you with a dream. Go to Him with your dream and allow His Holy Spirit to lead and guide you in what it means. Do not allow yourself to go to the world for the interpretation. They will only give false lies and deception, which bring about death.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will give you dreams to speak in and through you; that God will give you the interpretation of those dreams; and that His Holy Spirit will guide you in every area of your life.
This is such a powerful reminder to choose goodness in all aspects of our lives, aligning our actions with God’s will. Seeking good brings us closer to His presence and leads to a more purposeful, blessed life. Amen 🙏
