All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 13:8
People are very quick to lift up and idolize things or other people. They put things above everyone and everything else to the point that they are being worshipped without actually calling it worship. Focus is placed heavily upon something so that it will guide them in their life at the cost of everything else.
John describes a beast that rise up and that all the people of the earth who have not had their name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will worship this beast.
Humans were made to worship. Every person will find something or someone to worship. It will always be either themselves, someone else or something else, but worship will occur.
Self is the most common thing to be worshipped. People will put their own desires and feelings above everything else. Focus will be on pleasing self at the cost of all others.
Worship in this way is bowing down to Satan and giving him the worship that is due to God alone. Satan deceives people into believing that they deserve what belongs to God and that they are just as great as God.
Anyone who lives in this way has not believed in Jesus and is not saved. Their name will not be written in His Book of Life and will be cast into hell in the end at the final judgement.
Rather than worshipping the beast, Satan, one must put full trust in Jesus and worship God alone. Worship will include both giving praise to God and bowing down to Him but will also include obeying His commands. In this way one’s name will be in the Book of Life.
Satan and the world want you to focus upon self and things rather than on God. They will try to deceive you into worshipping anything but God to keep you out of heaven. Do not give into the temptation to worship things, people and the false gods of this world. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and worship God alone. Ensure that your name is in the Lamb’s Book of Life so that you will one day receive the inheritance of eternal life.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will worship God alone; that God will reveal to you things that you worship and put above Him; that God will help you to not be deceived by this world; and that your name will be in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
