Hebrews 10:36 Have Endurance

For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. Hebrews 10:36

Beginning something new is often very easy for a lot of people, however, keeping up at it is often very difficult. When challenges arise and get in the way many will back off and change directions, giving up on the original path. Enduring the challenges is not something most people are willing to do and, in the end, may not every know what may have been possible. Quitting is much easier.

The author of Hebrews talks of the need to have endurance to do the will God and to receive the promise God has given all believers.

In every sport there is a strong need to endure. Continuing to move forward when exhausted and up against a powerful opponent can be difficult and discouraging. It appears that there is no hope of ever completing with a win. Pain is all that is on the horizon.

Going through life is the same way as going through a game. The need for endurance is strongly needed. Many choose to begin the walk with Jesus in believing in Him for salvation. Yet, the world is pushing against that belief and will do what it can to stop the believer by leading one into sin.

As the world is attacking and fighting to deceive the believer into sin, one must be willing to hold and endure the onslaught and continue to follow God. Pain, suffering and weariness will set in trying to stop and discourage the believer.

Daily one must make the choice to follow God and do His will rather than follow the world into sin and death. Holding on to Jesus and enduring the journey will result in eternal joy and comfort in heaven some day.

As a believer, you have begun a journey that you do not know when it will come to an end. This journey with Jesus will be filled with the enemy trying to attack you and stop you. Doing the will of God will cause you to be weary at times and want to throw the towel in and give up. Do not give up or give in to sin. Hold on to what you believe and keep on enduring with the endurance and strength God provides by His Holy Spirit until you receive the promise of eternal life God has given you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the promises of God; that God will give you strength to keep moving forward; that you will do the will of God each day; and that someday you will receive the full promise of God.
