All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16
Bookstores and libraries are packed with books to help a person in nearly everything and anything desired. Rows upon rows of self-help books fill the stores. People are always searching for answers on how to do something or deal with some issue and scour books for the answers. What is not in books can be found on the internet. Along with all of the normal books, there are billions of pages of laws to guide people in what can or cannot be done.
Paul tells Timothy that everything in Scripture is given by inspiration by God to be useful in doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction for righteousness.
In all of history only one book has been consistently stood against and been tried to be destroyed. That book is the Bible. Satan wants to destroy it because it has the words of God in it. Although many rulers have tried to destroy the Bible, it keeps being produced and believed.
It is estimated that the Bible has been copied and printed over five billion times over the centuries of its existence.
While the world looks at the bible and just thinks it is a bunch of made-up stories, it has the words of God to all of mankind. It was given to people to guide and direct a person in every area of life.
The Scriptures contained in it teach all doctrine and guides leaders how to correct others and gives instruction in how to live the righteous and holy life God wants people to live and how to have eternal life.
No other single book gives all of that information. And no other book can guide a person into eternal life.
You have either read or seen many books throughout your lifetime. Many can be very helpful in many different ways. Although all those books may be helpful to some degree or more, none can be as helpful to you as the Bible, God’s Holy Word, the Scriptures. Every verse in the Bible was given to you by God to guide you and lead you in all righteousness. At times it may have to correct you or reprove you, but it will always do it with God’s love to set you on the right path with God.
Are you reading His word today?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will have a hunger to know God’s word; that God will guide you in all truth through His word and His Holy Spirit; that you will walk in His righteousness according to His word; and that you will study His word to know all He has for you.
