1 Timothy 4:1 Will You Depart From The Faith?

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 1 Timothy 4:1

Beginning something new is easy for many people. Excitement and hope are built up about what is new, and people are quick to grab on to it and jump on the new bandwagon. Later, when something else newer comes along, or there arises challenges, people get off that wagon and start to follow that new thing. It looks shinier and better than what they had, regardless of how good it was.

Paul tells Timothy that the Spirit very distinctly says that there will be some in the days to come who will leave the faith and give into deception and false doctrines presented by demons.

Getting distracted and moved off course comes easily for most people. Anything that is shiny and bright catches the attention and pulls a person towards it. In this dark world, people are always searching for life in whatever looks good on the surface.

Unwilling to do any real work, people only look at the surface of things. They don’t want to take the time and effort to see if what they are seeing is really good or not. As a result, many are deceived into things that are false and dangerous.

Although sin and false doctrines have been in the church since its inception, current history shows churches starting to accept sinful doctrines more and more. People are walking away from the faith to follow shiny doctrines of false faith to be able to live in sin with no judgement.

Believers are to remain true to God’s word. They are to hold on to the doctrine of the gospel of Jesus fleeing all sin and not be deceived into believing false doctrines.

As you are going through life, what path are you walking on? It may be easy for you to get distracted and change directions on a regular basis. As a believer, the world will try to deceive you into changing directions and leaving the faith. Dig into God’s word and make it a part of your life. Hold on to and build your relationship with God. Be led by the Spirit so that you do not fall for the deceiving spirits or any doctrines coming from demonic led people.

Do not depart your faith in Jesus.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God’s word in your heart; that God will open your eyes to deception and doctrines of the enemy; that you will remain true to God; and that God will help you expose false doctrines being taught for others to see.
