1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee Sexual Immorality

Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18

Sexuality is something that is seen in everything and everywhere one looks. From books to movies to music there is sexuality weeded into nearly everything a person may see, hear or touch. The world does not see anything wrong with using sexuality in any way that one may desire. There are no boundaries of limitations according to the world.

As Paul tells the Corinthian church to glorify God in body and spirit, he then tells them to flee sexual immorality because that is a sin against one’s own body.

When God made Adam and Eve in the garden, He made them to be sexually active with each other. It was with the guidelines that it was only for a man and woman in the context of marriage to one another.

After the fall of mankind, Satan corrupted the minds of humans to corrupt sexuality. The world sees all sexuality as acceptable, no longer just between and husband and wife in a marriage. Some areas of the world held to Godly standards as a whole for a number of years, but have begun to turn away from those standards.

Throughout the church there is sexual immorality that is rampant. Watching movies, reading books, listening to music, searching the internet is common with immorality. With the technology available today, immorality can be done easier with no one else to directly see.

Believers are to flee all sexual immorality. This is in every area that immorality can be seen or done. Boundaries need to be established that keep one away from being tempted to step into sexual immorality.

The mind and body are to be used to worship and serve God, not to be used for sexual immorality.

All around you the world is pushing sexual ideas of every type imaginable. The world wants you to see sexuality as good to fulfill your deepest needs and desires. You have to make a choice in how you deal with those temptations. God wants you to flee all of it. He made those desires to be there for the marriage bed and there only. Make the choice that, outside of marriage, you will flee all sexual immorality. Turn off movies and music that lead the wrong way. Give your body to God, not to the world.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will open your eyes to sexual immorality around you; that God will give you strength to flee all sexual immorality; and that you will glorify God with your heart, mind, body and soul.
