Crazy things happen all the time in the lives of people. Often, people say that it is coincidence or luck when something good occurs. When it is something bad, they will them say it is bad luck hitting their lives. Very seldom do people like to look at what occurred as having been done on purpose by God or someone else. Things are left up to chance.
John records that Jesus had healed a nobleman’s son with just a word. When the man realized his son was healed exactly when Jesus gave the word, he and his household believed Jesus.
When something occurs that defies normal logic, people are quick to call it luck or just a coincidence. The world struggles with holding on to the concept that someone or something greater than them could cause something to happen at a very specific time.
In order to say that it was not coincidence, one would have to believe in a higher power or being. To claim a higher power, would be to admit that one is not fully in control of every situation in life.
Inside the church there are times in which people will also claim things as coincidence. People are quick to pray about something, but unwilling to give God the credit when their prayer is answered. They are unable or unwilling to see the bigger picture of what is occurring and be willing to believe God’s word.
Instead of questioning God’s word, believers should believe God’s word. They are to see His hand at work in their lives, answering their prayers.
How many times has something good occurred that just happened to be in line with something else that happened in your life? Do not allow yourself to think that it was just coincidence. God is at work in your life in ways that does not always make sense and defies understanding. Nothing is left up to chance in God’s eyes. He is in control and can work miracles at His divine appointed time.
Believe that God can do things in the right way, at the right time, every time. Are you willing to believe God did the work, rather than just believing it was a chance coincidence?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you believe in God’s abilities; that you will pray for God to meet your needs; that you will see God at work in your life in amazing ways; and that you will believe God’s word.
