Zechariah 2:10 Sing And Rejoice

“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the Lord. Zechariah 2:10

People get excited about many things that can occur in their life or around them. When some get excited about something, they will jump for joy and rejoice very loudly, letting everyone know the good news. There is no fear of what others may think, even if others do not understand the reason for rejoicing or believe in it.

Zechariah records God telling Jerusalem to sing and rejoice because He is coming and will dwell among them.

The world is very quick to shout and rejoice at many different things. During football or basketball seasons, many will rejoice at how their team is doing. The excitement level can often be extremely high, and everyone sees and knows it.

While it can be good to rejoice at these things, most often the rejoicing is over something temporary. The things of this earth are temporary and only last for a short time. Rejoicing often turns quickly to sorrow.

Believers can easily be caught up in rejoicing over these temporary things. Many will miss that God is in their midst, either in the temporary rejoicing or while in times of turmoil in their lives.

God’s presence is something that every believer should be excited about. There is no one or anything that could be better to have than the One who created everything and is in complete control to be present in one’s life. With God present, one can have peace and joy, no matter what chaos is going on around them or in one’s life.

As a believer, God’s Holy Spirit is dwelling in the believer. And not only is the Holy Spirit present, but Jesus is also coming again to take the believer home to heaven someday soon. One needs to sing and rejoice at this good news.

You have things that you get excited about. While the things of this earth may be good, you have the greatest news of God’s presence in your life to rejoice about. Sing and rejoice out loud for the world to hear that God is in your midst. He is present to give you His peace, strength, comfort, joy and much more. There is nothing greater in which to sing and rejoice about.

Are you singing and rejoicing at God’s presence?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God’s presence in your life; that God will be able to dwell in your midst; and that you will sing and rejoice at God being in your life.
