Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and the former rain to the earth. Hosea 6:3
People like to pursue many different things. They chase after things that they want and are willing to do whatever it takes to get it. This can be college degrees, wealth, positions, jobs, vacations or nearly anything else. As they chase these things, often they leave behind nearly everything and everyone else.
Hosea tells the people to pursue the knowledge of God and that His going forth is as faithful as the coming of morning. He also says that God will come just as the former and latter rains come.
Knowledge is something that the world promotes as good, and it is good. Having knowledge can help a person understand something and it can guide the person in accomplishing tasks at hand.
Thousands of colleges are located all over the world to help people gain more knowledge. These colleges teach nearly every possible subject one may want to know about, including subjects that appear to be totally worthless and a waste of time and money.
One subject that the majority do not teach about is the knowledge of God, the single most important subject needed by every person. Without knowing about God, one cannot know Jesus. Without knowing Jesus, one cannot have a truly abundant and eternal life. All they are left with is death.
Pursuing knowing God will lead one to Jesus. It sets one on the right path of true life. In knowing Jesus, one’s life is changed from a life of sin to an eternal life of love for God and His ways from the inside out.
You have taken time to pursue various things in your life and may even be pursuing some of those things right now. As you are pursuing things, make sure that you are pursuing knowing God more and more.
You cannot know too much about God. Make God and His ways your number one priority in this life. Once knowing Him is a priority, the need for other things will fade away. With God you will have a full and abundant life that is filled with purpose and joy that will last from now into all of eternity.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will pursue knowing God more and more; that you will pursue knowing God’s ways; and that you will allow the knowledge of God to change you to be more like Jesus.
