I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you. Daniel 5:14
Regardless of who a person is, there is always someone that will talk about someone else. People like to talk about others, especially when the other person is not around to hear what is being said. Good things are all some people will talk about another person, but more often what is said is in conjunction with negative things or bringing the person down.
Daniel records Belshazzar telling him that he has heard that the Spirit of God is in him and that he is filled with wisdom and understanding.
It is common for a person to recommend someone else for a job that needs to be done. Word of mouth is often used to spread the news that someone is good at repairing something. Friends will often ask other friends who they can go to in order to get some needed help.
There are some people who do such a poor job in some area, that very few people will recommend them. Others do such a great job, that their reputation precedes them, and they are often recommended for a job.
Believers are to live their lives for God so much that their reputation for believing in God precedes them. As a servant of God, one can expect to hear from God and have is wisdom and understanding.
The world should be able to see that the believer is different and has exceptional wisdom and understanding. They should be able to see that God is dwelling in the believer without having to be told. When the world sees that, they will recommend others to the believer for having great wisdom and understanding.
Just as you are willing to recommend certain people to others to get various jobs done, you must live in a way that others can recommend you for a job. People in this world need comfort, wisdom and guidance on how to get through this life.
You have all of that as a believer in Jesus. God has put His Spirit in you so that you have His wisdom and understanding beyond human knowledge. Can the world see that you have the Spirit of God in you and all of His wisdom and understanding? Will they go to you for help? Will they recommend you to help others in need?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will live by the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit; that the world will see that God dwells in you; and that the world will turn to you for help in times of trouble.
