House Snakes and House Geckos
I took the dog out the other night and we stumbled upon this scene. An African House Snake managed to capture this gecko that was just as big as he was. House snakes don’t chase geckos, they are ambush predators and he just waited for the opportunity to strike. There is one coil around the gecko that is going to suck the life out of him and that is all it takes.
I got to thinking about how our enemy waits for us to get close, and how often we flirt with danger and allow ourselves to get close to what we know will strike eventually. All it takes is one coil wrapped around to suck the life out of us. Think of habits, friends or other things that are drawing you closer to what you know is wrong. Eventually you will get close enough for that one coil to wrap itself around and you will be trapped. We have all seen people whose lives were destroyed, and it doesn’t happen all at once, it starts with one coil wrapped around.
Guard your hearts especially in these last days, our enemy is working overtime to wrap up as many as he can because he knows his time is short!
1 Thessalonians 5:22 “Abstain from every form of evil.”
Let’s set healthy boundaries between ourselves and what we know is wrong. This world has gone crazy and if we are not careful, we will get “wrapped up” in the crazy!
