Time For New Things

The year 2024 has begun. As one looks back on 2023, people have many different thoughts about it. Some may look at it as a time of turmoil and trouble, wars, violence, inflation, chaos, uncertainty and much more. Others may look back and have great memories of births, marriages, great vacations, great achievements and more.

In this same way, looking into 2024 may bring about various thoughts. Some will fear it because of the troubles already occurring that do not appear to ever go away or ease up. Others may look forward with great hope and expectation because the year before was good to them.

Either way you look at it, I want you to put God at the forefront of your thoughts and see what He has to say. Isaiah records God in talking about Jesus coming:

Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19

God is always doing something new and different. The only thing that stays the same with God is His character. He will always be holy, perfect love, perfect justice, perfect compassion, perfect caring, perfect wisdom and more.

Although His character remains the same, God does things in new ways. Throughout the bible you can see that God heals in many different ways. He deals with situations in many different ways.

In this new year God will do new things in your life, if you have hope and believe Him and keep your heart and eyes open. These new things may not always be easy and fun, but they will be what you need in life to grow more like Jesus and to do His work on this earth.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

God will make you something new in this new year. You will not be the same as last year. If you allow God to work in your life, you will be more like Jesus than ever before. Trust the Potter and be clay in His hands and see what God can do in your life. You have a hope that the world does not have, nor understand. If your life is taken, you have eternal life to look forward to.

One final word on this: Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:5

Happy New Year in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

I pray that:

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
